Wondering if the Bears are going to wear a patch on their jerseys in memory of Butkus for the remainder of the season

In the grand scheme of things I know there are more important things, but it’d be a nice nod to honor one of the greatest NFL players of all time, I was disappointed they didn’t do it when Gayle Sayers passed

They should do a Jackie Robinson and have every team and every player wear 51. That would be fun
They should be able to, would be a nice touch for a legend.

I’d be shocked if they don’t. Butkus was a Bears legend.
Wear it forever
They probably will this weekend. Due to timing of it being same day last week not enough time to sew in 51 onto all jerseys.
I’m sure they will do a video remembrance to him as well

We’ll see. Gale Sayers died in 2020 and he didn’t get a patch, though the pandemic clearly made that more difficult to get created. But I would not be surprised if the Bears only worse a patch for a game or so. Walter Payton dying clearly before his time in pretty dramatic fashion vs Butkus dying in old age might make a difference in a decision to how long a patch is worn.
I’m quite sure 51 would rather they bust a few fucking heads instead of a patch…

Their social media profile images have been that exact patch with a 51 all week. Decent chance it happens.
