Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the Capitals wordmark primary logo. I just feel that the organization has a ton of much more interesting branding already. I’d love to see them lean into the weagle and screaming eagle logos.
For the home and away jerseys, I wanted to design something new and fresh, yet familiar. The jerseys feature big, bold blocks of color. The weagle logo takes center stage, with the 3 stars of the DC flag. The white of the sleeve pattern contains a embossed pattern reminiscent of Corinthian columns, which can be seen all over DC. The shapes of the emboss is that of the Washington Monument.
The first alternate is a new take on the popular W jerseys. The sleeve patterns display the DC flag prominently.
The second alternate is a modified screaming eagle jersey. The wordmark has been moved to the inside of the collar to give the jersey a more clean, modern feel. 3 red stars are added to the eagle to represent the DC flag yet again.
Love the DC flag on the sleeves, great touch
I really like all of these but I wish that people would show the Capitol building logo more love. It’s a classic
