  1. I don’t think he needs to speak directly to them for the media to tell the world what was said in the clubhouse

  2. Acuna may not have played up to standard, but no one on the offense besides Riley and maybe Ozzie did. You can’t put all the blame on the guy, especially after the season he had, which got us here in the first place. Philadelphia pitched really well as well. I will say that Harris not getting a single hit is a bit more disappointing than the other guys, despite how well he did on defense. If anyone should get the majority of blame, it’s Snit. He just doesn’t light a fire under the guys like you’d want him to. Oh well, it was a great and fun regular season.

  3. Fuck the media, I wouldn’t talk to them either.

You want to talk to players? Don’t report shit said not to you that you overheard or something said off the record.

    He’s the MVP. Next.

  4. You put any 5 game series in a vacuum some players will perform and some won’t. It’s the hardest sport in the world. Hardest to win a championship in besides maybe hockey. The system needs to be redone. I’d rather go back to the 1 game wildcard then have a week layoff. It just feels dirty. 2nd consecutive postseason with 3 100 win teams eliminated in the first round. We’re getting robbed of the best teams in their respective leagues competing against each other. Still proud of the guys I’ll always be a fan for life. Go rangers and dbacks. Can’t have 2 wildcard teams in the NLCS 2 years in a row. It’s not a good look. See you true fans next seaon

  5. Like a true champ. Nice he’s got the leadership qualities we were sorely lacking from other players throughout the series.

Edit: downvote away. Leaders don’t just bail.

  6. Man there’s so weird comments on here.

Maybe it’s just me but after losing a season ending game the last thing I want to do is watch any post game stuff or hear from the players or anything like that. I kind of feel like they shouldn’t be expected to speak after that kind of thing too. I’m sure everyone is disappointed and feels like shit after losing and the season ending. If they don’t want to talk to the media that’s more than okay with me.

  7. Acuna isn’t a leader and isn’t a follower either. He is still pretty immature but is getting better.

I just hope he doesn’t go south and damn near start another riot this winter.

  8. If only he held Snitker this accountable. Instead he makes every excuse in the world for his shortcomings.

  9. Acuna had a fantastic year and underperformed in the playoffs as did most Braves.

Snit’s fault? C’mon now. The players knew what was at stake – they’re not college kids. Their bats went cold and the long layoff didn’t help, nor did losing Morton.

  10. FYI this tweet was also posted in r/baseball and there are some horrible takes in there.

Edit to add: so just avoid it and don’t wade in like I did

  11. They didn’t look mad in the dug out. At one point during the 8th, I saw all of them being super happy and having a great time. That’s when I turned off my tv.

  12. I may be the only one but I don’t think teams should be expected to talk to the media on the road in the playoffs

  13. The fact most of you guys avoid any sort of criticism of Ronald is lame as hell. He wasn’t the reason we lost, but every other player that shit the bed, sat up there and took questions. No excuse for our star player to avoid answering questions after a disappointing loss.

  14. Dude tried to wave Pillar home on the wild pitch and Pillar almost got tagged up from inaction.
That changed the dynamic of that AB.

Imagine a nervous out of sorts Kimbrel pitching in the 7th after bringing the game closer on a wild pitch and Acuna is still at the plate. Shifts the pressure away from Ronald to Craig and maybe that same hit goes 4 more feet to clear the fence.

  15. Eh I get it. Didn’t have great series, really nobody did offensively, and he’s disappointed with the outcome. Gotta remember though this puts your teammates in a weird spot, because you know some clown is gonna bring it up to them. Much like the Arcia thing it’s a non-story.

  16. The ones mad about this are the same ones that gave Cam Newton grief after the Super Bowl. More affectionately (?) known as the F-150 crowd.

  17. I wouldn’t talk to one single member of the media until they figured out who the rat is.

That didn’t cost of this series. Lots of factors did. But it rained hell down on our guys.

Either way, we had an incredible season which was incredibly fun to watch.

Suspect Pillar, Morton, and Ozuna won’t be back. Excited to see the other tweaks made. But, we have a bright future.

  18. Phillies fans were quiet and visibly stressed at multiple points when we were threatening, so I enjoyed that at least.
