2018 and 2019 were so fucking validating as a DC sports fan that we could have nice things sometimes, but goddamn I swear we’ve just been immediately choke-slammed back to reality after decades of disappointment

This team is just so tough to be fan of lately. Revolving door of coaches/bad hires. Refusal to let young players play. And signing bad contracts and old players. This team is slowwwww and it showed tonight. Mantha/Kuzy/Backy/Oshie contracts are killing this team.
Did anyone else see that ESPN postgame discussion on what they ate for lunch and salads?? What an absolute joke
That one possession where we literally skated circles around Pittsburgh in their own zone for 2+ minutes without registering anything close to a shot is going to be something I think about all season. It may be an omen for the season. We’ve improved in some aspects but we still can’t figure out how to capitalize on chances. Nobody is scary from an offensive perspective on the Caps.
Did anyone feel we were good the first 8mins, then began to fall back into our old habits the rest of the game??
