Dear Sixers fans, can anybody tell me why in the 1996 season, the Sixers still wore their old uniforms but played already on their new floor?

You can clearly see that the floor is already in their future black design while they are still wearing their red/white/blue jerseys.

That’s the jersey design for that year. It wasn’t just the black variant. They didn’t change out the floor for each variant of the jersey like we do with city editions today.
