Don’t let this distract you from the fact that the O-line didn’t look bad last night.

When DJ comes back that will be one less excuse.

  1. I mean. It looked better. I don’t know if I’d say it didn’t look bad though- still allowed a lot of pressure. But I guess it’s a step in the right direction

  2. Yeah, I haven’t been this happy with a loss in a while. The o line looked much better (still need work though), and the defense played amazing. I mean, Bobby O fucking kerekee!

  3. The line still sucked, Taylor just has much better awareness in the pocket than Jones does. And while Jones might be a better runner, Tyrod seems to be better at scrambling and still being able to look downfield.

  4. Well run blocking was horrible. And marginally better pass blocking. I think the fact that the game wasn’t out of control and we had to throw it every down makes a huge difference. The defence could just pin their ears back in every play.

  5. the line was no better than usual, pressure basically every snap. The difference was that we had a QB who made decisions and got rid of the football.

  6. 1. They moved the pocket a ton more with Tyrod than they had been all season
    2. Run blocking is part of looking good, and that was terrible last night

The line didn’t allow as much pressure, that is true, but the gameplan was different from the previous weeks because Saquon boosted the PA game and the Giants moved the pocket consistently (I’m not sure why it took them until Week 6 to do it?). Let’s hold off on slapping the O-Line on the back and giving Tyrod a bunch of credit, the end result is the same–no touchdowns and an L, even if it was aesthetically more pleasing.

  7. I would say it was also because Tyrod was playing with more urgency and anticipation. Taking those deep shots with confidence also helped. If DJ comes back and continues to look gun shy I think it’s best to move on entirely.

  8. Taylor being able to feel the rush and move had a lot to do with that. A lot of the time he was able to extend plays just by moving out of the pocket and still scan the field.

  9. Was it still bad? Yes.

But did we actually see some improvement instead of the usual disastrous performance? Yes.

Why? I’m gonna sit this one out.

  10. It looked better but this Bills D is not great without Milano. He is their entire heart and soul.

  11. This was the first loss where I feel there were real positives to take away from the game. The offense is still miserable, but there was some improvement. And the defense is really finding itself these past two weeks

  12. It helps that Saquon is back there. Play action and rollouts are ineffective if there’s no threat

  13. It looked terrible shut up, it was not Tyrods fault we only scored 9 points, we got the ball back in our territory twice just in the first half.

Justin Pugh I thought looked okay and Evan Neal wasn’t as bad, but you can not say in anyway that it didn’t look bad because it did.

  14. It’s not much but Neal actually looked like a nfl tackle yesterday instead of the normal turnstile s/o to him

  15. Only you guys could make the argument that the offense looks good when we scored 0 touchdowns and had the ball on the 1 twice

  16. This team just needs to play no huddle the entire game quick slants, curls, go routes, HB toss, HB draw. Just play the game like a 7 year old plays madden and cheesebour way to wins

  17. It wasn’t the line, it was better play calling to anticipate our poor O-line. Most teams do this except ours before today.

  18. Ideal outcome last night.

The season is lost. We’re playing for the draft pick now.

We competed and took them to the brink in their place. Gave us an exciting game that came down to the literal last play – and still managed to get the L.

Daboll is my coach of the week. Squandered that halftime possession on purpose because he too knows this year is already toast.

  19. Were they improved? Yes. Were they good? No. Tyrod scrambled his way out of way quite a few sacks (something that Jones hasn’t been able to do at all this season) and Buffalo’s edge rushers were getting through pretty regularly.

  20. Justin Pugh did a remarkable job for a guy straight off the couch. With his experience hopefully he helps coach our young guys up.

  21. Tyrod played very well all things considered. Yes he had some bone headed mistakes (cough cough) and I’m unsure he’s better than DJ (but it’s a lil worrisome that he didn’t look that much worse than DJ), but he had a quick release, a pretty alright arm (little shot/washed), and he’s quite athletic. He’s one of the better backups in the league. And he isn’t shell shocked for being hit so much like DJ is, so he was more poised. I think that helped a lot.

That being said, credit to the o line for not absolutely sucking, but only kinda sucking (especially in the run game, also gave up a lot of pressures). I’ll take kinda sucking over totally sucking though
