You can see the pain and confusion in Teddy’s face. He doesn’t recognize this team anymore and even worse he’s starting to not recognize Bill. I think in Teddy’s mind Bill would’ve resigned before things got this bad. He would treat himself like a player and cut himself a year early not a year late

There is an irony to Bill being able to slowly decline while he ruthlessly cut and traded players. I understand letting him ride it out after all he’s done for the franchise but I’d also but ok with an end of season firing if he’s not willing to make the concessions needed for a modern NFL team.
Bill is really tarnishing his legacy with the team the past couple seasons. Hindsight is 20/20 but he should’ve rode off into the sunset when Brady left and enjoyed retirement. With every patriots loss now, the case for the success being Brady’s gets stronger
Anyone, even Teddy, suggesting BB is the problem when the players on the field can’t make plays, doesn’t make sense to me
I feel like I’m on an island with this take but I would be really upset if they fired Bill. I want him to stay 5 more years and win one more and then retire. I’m sad to see fans turn on him, I’ve always loved his demeanor with the media, treats them like the dirt they are and at the same time gets the best from his players. mac was our best option at the time, but he has failed and that set us back a couple years. A seamless transition from Brady was always a pipe dream and if mac was good we could have had it… But I’m not losing sleep over a couple of down years.
If Bill wants to keep coaching, the patriots 100% should let him no matter what. I hope robert is giving him this security behind closed doors.
Things weren’t great before the season, but injury bit this team hard. Bill couldn’t have anticipated we’d be playing with a fraction of the players he anticipated starting.
It’s easy to pile on but we still haven’t seen our offense or defense on the field with the personnel that we had in place. OLine, WR, CB, Edge, this team was doomed from the start.
