[Eric Engels] Initial word I’m receiving on Canadiens’ Kirby Dach is he has a torn ACL+torn MCL in his knee. There are more tests being done, and we’ll wait for Habs to officially confirm once they’re received all the info, but this puts Dach’s season at risk if it ends up being the case.

  9. What the fuck? Nick Chubb’s leg nearly tore in half and even that ended up being less bad than Dach’s injury…

  14. Man, Dach is just prone to bad injuries. 7 major injuries in just 4 years. At his young age that really isnt looking good for a long career

  16. Ok seriously, fuck the season, dach is only 23 at the start of next year so I’m hoping he can come back to be the beast he is becoming.

    We were most likely picking 8-12 if our top talents stayed healthy.

    May as well pick top 3 after this disaster.

  18. Ignoring hockey, this really fuckin sucks for Dach. Every time he starts to get going some unlucky injury derails him, and none of them are related…

  20. I’d say this is “career-altering” or whatever, but I just watched old-ass Andrei Markov have the best years of his career AFTER multiple knee surgeries, ankle injuries, etc.

    It sucks that he’ll be out long-term, that he’ll have to “rebuild” himself, but if he takes his rehab seriously, he’ll be okay.

  21. Man, that just fucking sucks. Dach is such an important piece of this rebuild, and this was such a critical year for his development. Hopefully Slaf and Ghule stay healthy and show improvement this year, because otherwise this is shaping up to be a total waste of a season from a development perspective.

  22. What a major bummer for Dach. He was looking great to start the season. Sucks for us but I even feel worse for him, as he worked his ass off to get to this point.

  23. I tore my ACL and meniscus in January. Hell of a road to recovery. I really hope they aren’t full tears.

  24. It would definitely be the end of his season, I am assuming… what’s the longest term prognosis for these sorts of injuries now? Like, is there a good chance they can reconstruct it and he can come back… or are we talking Bobby Orr type knees now?
