That was the greatest Astros game in franchise history

  1. That’s a bit ridiculous. It’s impact is yet to be determined. If we lose the next two, game 5 will be largely forgotten, a footnote in team history. Even if we win the series, I can think of several bigger wins. How could it top game 1 against the Mariners with Yordan’s 3-run walkoff, or game 6 of World Series with his “turned this game upside down” homer that propelled them to a game 6 victory and the World Series? Or Altuve’s 3 run walkoff homer against the Yankees in game 7? Or the 13-12 game 5 against the Dodgers in 2017?

  2. I mean, we’ve thrown a no-hitter in the World Series. I think the comeback in G1 vs the Mariners was my personal favorite.

Game 5 of the 2017 WS is up there as well

  3. I think this one feels bigger than a lot of other games because it’s against the Rags. A lot of games were “greater” but for this to be against Texas? Hell yeah

  4. For me yes, I’m at Disney World with my wife’s family and I had to get up from the table at a restaurant in the French quarter and run back and forth wildly flailing my arms to prevent myself from screaming obscenities. It created a scene. But I did not curse in front of children. I’ll never forget it, close second is Yordan turning Seattle game around

  5. 2019 ALCS Game 6 might forever be my singular favorite Astros moment.

Until tonight. The stakes, the inning, the absolute sheer fucking will of Altuve, and most importantly….. the opponent.

You can’t write a better movie and he’s done it twice.

  6. #1. Game 5, World Series, Dodgers…2017

    #2. Game 6, ALCS, Yankees 2019

    #3. Game 5, ALCS, Rangers 2023

    Thats my ranking

Was there for the first two

Altuve gave LeCerc & Chapman a bonding moment in the dugout with that homer

  7. I still go with Yordan turning the tides last year. This is number 2 or 3, but (and no disrespect meant) winning Game 5 of the ALCS doesn’t compare to winning the World Series.

  8. Idk, the WS win in L.A.

Correa hitting HR’s against the Yankees.

    Chapman dumb-founded, in a Yankees uniform…twice…by Altuve.

Chas’ catch in Philly and Yordan going yard on the Phloppies.

Those were epic games. This one was up there, but arguably not the best in franchise history.

  9. That will absolutely be the greatest game in Astros history BUT they have to finish them off. Otherwise it won’t mean jackshit

  10. I was on a plane about to take off to Houston and the whole plane erupted. It was glorious. I love this team.

  11. I cannot believe that I can say that I was there. That might be the highest high I’ve ever experienced at a live sporting event.

  12. 2017 World Series game 5 was much bigger for me but tonight was a huge win. Go Astros

  13. With the Texas rivalry and all the heat and build up before the 9th inning, I see the point. Either way it was epic
