Curry has averaged 61 games the last three seasons. If he plays the new required minimum of 65, he’ll hit 473 in 5 seasons. Curry may very well retire without getting close to that number.

They had to change rules because of how bad Shaq was from the free throw line, he also shot a lot more of those. This is also about Curry not getting respect from refs, not just that he’s a much better shooter
