Um that didn’t work out for the cardinals that year. Hopefully we don’t repeat what the cardinals did
I was there.
The only comparison I will except is that Altuve and Pujols both have magic moments running through their veins.
The Ol kneel down. I was like 13 and trying not to cry in front of my friends 😂
I was at that game.
Fucking Pujols
LeClerc is preparing to win the World Series a couple years down the road if that’s the case
Can you take me higher?!
From my understanding that Pujols shot is still in low earth orbit and should make reentry some time in 2042
That fucking HR. That *fucking* HR. I *still* remember it to this day. That’s why it was pretty damn cathartic to see Altuve crush Ranger fans’ hopes and dreams yesterday. So maybe he didn’t break a damn glass window like Pujols did, but he did reap some Ranger souls yesterday, and that’s good as is.
That HR from Tuve heals ALL Houstonians who watched that NLCS games where Lidge pitched that fateful HR to Pujols. I still remembered where I was that night.
That ball is still flying out there
I still can’t believe Brad Lidge recovered and had a decent career after that.
There is a story, I have no idea if it’s true, but the pilot flying the plane for the Astros back to St. Louis said during take off flight instructions: “…and if you look out to the left, you can still see the Pujols HR flying through the air”. Brad was seriously furious when the pilot said this, until he found out someone on the Astros told the pilot to say this…I think it was Roger Clemens.
“Load em up” Lidge
How we feel about Pujols is how teams feel about Altuve/Yordan.
Albert Pujols ruined my childhood
Didn’t the Astros still lose the series though
Did that ball ever come down? Asking for a friend
That moment was so horrible. I watched my boy Lidge die inside. Just watched the light die.
I remember that game like it was yesterday. I remember the ball disappeared over the train tracks. There was a story claiming the pilot on the Stros trip to St Louis the following told the team to ”look out the window for the ball Puljos hit”. Roy O wins the next game and gets his bulldozer promised by Drake M. All this to say I as much as hated and feared Puljos I can look back and say how grateful I was as a baseball fan to experience his greatness. What a special person and great baseball player. Albert Puljos was the greatest bat of my generation.
One more note- I don’t remember Puljos slamming his bat down after slowly walking to first or stomping on home plate 🤷♂️ Maybe just another guy doing what he does like he’s done it before. Go Stros!
