‘Reminds me of Carey Price’: Why Joseph Woll feels ready for the Maple Leafs’ net

  1. Not surprising – Woll was statistically one of the best goaltenders in the league last season. There is some question about whether he could keep up that pace with a higher workload, but he should at least be alternating starts.

  2. I think we need to ride him. Know what he’s all about. He looked great the other night

  3. I’m glad this quote is going to get national attention. Just what we need. Idiots thinking we look at Woll as Carey Price.

  4. Remember when Campbell beat Price’s record for most consecutive wins to start the season? Daily reminder that goalies are voodoo.

  5. Don’t need him to be Carey Price (even tho that’s not really what Domi was saying.) Just need some average goaltending and some timely saves.

  6. Great… way to put him under an impossible microscope. Let the kid grow into the starter role. Even Carey Price wasn’t Carey Price at the beginning

  7. Domi about to get a lesson real quick on PR 101 in Toronto. You can’t say shit like that.

When you hear the actual quote, he didn’t actually say with respect to Woll’s ability as a goaltender, just the demeanor. But absolutely everybody else is going to take that as “LOL! LEAF FANS THINK THEY HAVE PRICE 2.0! HAHAHAHA”

  8. Fuck it I’m in. Woll is the next Carey Price. I can see nothing wrong with making such a realistic and measured prediction.

  9. The guy has payed very well. But they’re putting a LOT of expectations on him already. Let’s just slow down and wait and see how he performs with a full seasons workload.

  10. Really disappointed in Luke Fox for using this bullshit, inflammatory headline.

This is part of the reason people hate this market.

  11. Reminds me of Georges Vezina mixed with Patrick Roy and a little Martin Brodeur. Ok go get em, no pressure kid.

  12. So Toronto will never win a Cup as long as he’s starter? Trade him now if that’s the case.

  13. I’d settle for him being Pittsburgh Matt Murray.

Win us a cup as a rookie and he’ll be immortalized.
