Looks like you can do what ever you want with zero consequences in the playoffs

  1. For all the conspiracy talk, this is the second time MLB has given the Astros special treatment in the playoffs. Yuli Gurriel anyone??

  2. I wonder what the outcome would have been if García had gotten injured as a result of the HBP.

Seems odd that an offence committed during the post-season doesn’t result in post-season suspension.

Tells me that the league doesn’t really care about pitchers intentionally hitting batters.

  3. A question I posted elsewhere- So a question for everyone: Should a pitcher ever be allowed to intentionally hit a batter? And if not, what should be the punishment? Suspension for each infraction? Or just an ejection? Award two bases if judged to be intentional, and suspend if multiple infractions? (not dissimilar to NBA with technical and flagrant fouls).

  4. Good, don’t want any excuses.Hard to say that was absolutely intentional anyway. Wouldn’t have made sense to do it for the Stros.

  5. Corps win again, but whoever has the best chance at beating/competing vs Philly Karens is acceptable.

  6. I mean, punting suspensions to the regular season has been a thing for over 20 years if not more.

Heck, Bobby Alomar spit in an umpire’s face and didn’t serve until the next year.

  7. Shouldn’t have had a suspension at all. Was a bullshit ruling in the first place. The whole ‘split the difference’ on this is ridiculous though

  8. You can’t actually be dumb enough to think he hit him on purpose can you? Fan or not use your brain.

  9. I love how everyone is so sure it was intentional. They were down 2 runs with no outs and they already had a rubber on. It easy could’ve just gotten away from him.

He shouldn’t have been suspended at all considering the lack of proof

  10. I don’t think he should be suspended at all. There wasn’t any intent with it. And even if there was, why is that a suspendible offense?

  11. It’s weird to me that they ruled he can serve his suspension next season, but at the same time I don’t get the general outrage. Two days ago it seemed like almost everyone on Earth agreed that Abreu likely didn’t hit Garcia on purpose and that the umps were high or something. While I do think he should be suspended tonight if it’s going to be upheld, it’s more a shrug to me than an outrage.

  12. Didn’t the Astros get to keep a World Series win under their belt when they were publicly outed for cheating ?

  13. Still waiting to hear news on Eovaldi suspension. He hit Maldonado and MLB has just as much proof of intent as they had with Abreu.
