Further proof I believe Yadi IS coming back…and Marmol is OUT

  1. Mo definitely said Oli will be back next year. After that who knows, but there’s a reasonable chance Yadi comes on as a bench coach and fills Oli’s vacancy whenever he gets let go or when his contract expires

  2. Molina very well could be back, but Marmol is assuredly not OUT…….not yet anyway.

  3. Oli Marmol isn’t going anywhere. He had one successful season in his first season. And then a season in which his entire pitching staff was either injured, ineffective, or too young/not ready, which is hardly his fault…

  4. On the Alt Cast on Tru TV for NLCS Game 7 several innings ago, Albert Pujols said he “wouldn’t mind being a manager.”

Excuse me, why isn’t that man’s cell phone ringing immediately?

  5. Oli isn’t going anywhere. There are, however, a truckload of coaching positions in an organization.

  6. 2024 is very much a do or die season for Oli. If the Cards finish say mid to high 80’s in wins and either just scrape into October or just barely miss, I’d say they keep him.

If we finish with a .500 record or lower, he’s gone.

But that in turn doesn’t mean we just hire someone new and go back to being a 90+ win contending team. LOTS of big question marks for 2024 campaign, and if pitching isn’t addressed first, count on that .500 club or there’s abouts at best next year…

  7. If we could have yadi as manager and pujols as hitting coach, I would be a very happy cardinals fan

  8. I could see Yadi easing into the catching thing. He’s lived and breathed baseball for half his life, and last year was his first time away from it. I’m sure he misses it and wants to come back in some capacity, but its hard to tell how you really feel about it until you’re back on that grind.

Maybe he’ll have some time as a developmental coach or a minor league coach, or assistant bench coach or something. My dream is him coaching us for the next 20 years though

  9. I think he’ll be a coach but unfortunately Oli will still be the manager. I think sooner than later yadi will be the manager

  10. I don’t think there’ a chance Yadi is ever the manager. Mo won’t have another TLR again. By that I mean someone who speaks his mind and stands up to Mo and demands more/better players. Mo wants someone he’s in full control of. Hence the firing of the last guy.
