  1. Who will ever forget one of the most famous plays in World Series history when the ball off Mookie’s bat found it’s way thru Buckner’s legs, it will forever be one of the those moments that will stay with us forever. In 2011, MLB Network ranked this as the third greatest game of the preceding 50 years. It was the last World Series game to end on an error until Game 4 of the 2020 World Series.
In the years that have followed, many fans regardless of team allegiance consider Game 6 of the 1986 World Series to be one of the greatest games ever played in the history of professional baseball.

  2. “The dreams are that you’re gonna have a great series and win. The nightmares are that you’re gonna let the winning run score on a ground ball through your legs. Those things happen, you know. I think a lot of it is just fate.”

Buckner said this 20 days prior to the game

  3. Sometimes it’s hard to believe believe it’s been that long.

The greatest sports moment of my life.

I remember I was in my bedroom the whole game watching, because I was very superstitious when I came to sports and I didn’t wanna move out of my spot in the house, and I didn’t want anybody else in my room to jinx me ( lol ).

My mother was in my parents room watching, and my dad was downstairs in the family room watching.

I was so scared they were about to lose it all, and I couldn’t hardly believe it. I was sweating and just trying to stay in my spot I had been situated watching the whole game for some luck.

When the play happened, the entire house exploded in shouts of joy, and people jumping up & down and dancing in the house like we were all crazy folks ! 😂🙌🏽
