3. This is the worst pass defense I’ve ever seen. If someone can give me a worse stretch of games I’d be interested to see what that looks like.

4. But but but it’s not Kyle’s fault. The players are not executing. Only *defensive* players not executing are allowed to be blamed on the coach.

5. Banks being called out is a tad odd, he’s been pretty good this season. And the first interception was just a disaster. It was supposed to be a run play and they missed the handoff, so even if Brock had thrown to Mitchell we would’ve been called on an illegal man penalty. Best case scenario was a throw away or run out of bounds, but Brock seemed like he had trouble processing through that situation. Just can’t throw a pick there, real bad move.

7. This is an unpopular opinion but Purdy has bailed Shanahan out these last 2 weeks by doing a lot of offscript stuff.

   Shanahan needs to know that teams have figured out how to stop CMC…we need to be more vertical.
   Too bad they never invested in an OL that can keep a QB upright.

9. Imo the offense will be fine with Trent and Deebo back. But I’d still like for them to trade for a WR3/slot WR… Jennings and Ray Ray aren’t good enough and certainly can’t step up in the event one of Deebo or Aiyuk go down, and Ronnie Bell is a special teams player at this point

10. DC is incompetent, the D has looked flat since he came on board. Brent Jones on KNBR/Tolbert has been saying since the first game that he is driving the D like it is a BMW not the Ferrari it is.

    The OC is also inept because he only wins if everything goes according to his game plan. If anything throws a wrench into the works and he falls behind late all bets are off. He panics, calls bad plays, gets out coached and has poor clock management.

    The Niners don’t have a headcoach that can diagnose and fix it.

11. Kyle kills multiple drives each game with high risk running plays that have high potential for 5+ yard losses and holds. When the defense can’t get stops those plays lose games

12. Hey wilks get out of the fucking press box and talk to ur players on the sideline about what they are seeing out there. DeMeco and Saleh were ultimate hype man and now we have eye in the sky coach.

13. I disagree with this take. Shanahan has had some bad play calls, but he put our offense in position to score 30 points today. It’s not his fault that players committed penalties and turnovers.

15. Defense not keeping their end of the bargain and getting exposed by better QBs now. After all that money spent on it while the QB has to play behind 3 (now 4) backup level olinemen. Boggles my mind how non 49ers fans and media think the oline is elite top 5. The weapons aren’t elite like they’re hyped up to be either. Kittle is a lineman who moonlights as an elite receiver from time to time. CMC is at the mercy of the OL and playcalling. Aiyuk is an elite WR2. Deebo is a RB. Then there’s a massive void.

    Bell needs to play more. Feel like he can do the offschedule stuff like a Tyler Lockett which would fit with Purdy. The other guys just sit/watch and don’t try to get reopen.

16. This is usually how the team starts, pretty slow.

    I know you guys are worried but people really have short memories. More likely than not they’ll figure it out and the team will look better.

    This is the same coach that’s been to 3 out of the last 4 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl.

    Good news is that the talent is there I believe it’s just scheme which coaches can adjust. Not saying that it’s a for sure thing we’ll get better but I’m more likely to wait and see before calling the season over.

18. I don’t see how you guys don’t see the defense being more of a problem than the offense when Purdy has to score 30 points a game for us to win.That’s super unsustainable.

19. The entire vibe of the team is in a rut. Defense can’t get off the field, offense actually isn’t playing terrible, moving the ball just ghastly turnovers but it’s moot unless the defense gets its act together. Three straight weeks of having absolutely no faith the defense can get a stop. Every second down is manageable. And it’s just chunk chunk chunk. I’d rather get gashed playing defense that has some chance of actually stopping the opponent. This is just soft ass “prevent defense” zone coverage that teams are just destroying. And definitely blitz, just not right before half in a game you had to really fight to make the halftime score respectable.

    The flummoxing part is in the recesses of my mind I figured if the Niners hit a snag it would be because Purdy fell down to earth like a Meteor and regressed to a sub Jimmy level. But he’s played pretty good and hasn’t not been the reason they lost three in a row. It’s just uninspired scared football that seems stuck in a ditch.

    I cannot believe how far this team has fell off since the Dallas game. Truly mind boggling. But maybe they’re were warning signs. stafford had his way except a few good plays by our D. dobbs and the cardinals were feisty as hell.

    They can turn this around, I hope they do. But man, sports be crazy sometimes.

20. I’m so glad this is getting called out. With the amount of talent and great teams Shanny has had, I think he actually might be the problem. His play calling is soft and predictable. He needs to unleash Brock and let him do his thing. We’re pretenders.
