God I wish the inquirer would hire Kyle to replace Phone-It-In Pompey
Hyped for Maxey’s rise to superstardom.
For anyone who may have thought he’d be worth it in a trade for an established star like Lilliard, this is why you should never trade young rising players for supermax dudes in their 30s–Maxey himself may be worth like 4 first round picks + Dame in a few seasons–and he’ll be substantially cheaper in his first extension.
Seeing someone like SGA be a trade throw-in a few years back should be a cautionary tale. Value your own draftees and ingratiate them into the city, because then you get a Maxey who you can root for, hopefully well into the next decade.
