  1. I think that’s fair. They have a lot of holes. 1 proven starter. No everyday outfielders. Thairo at second and Bailey at catcher are your only everyday players. Too many questions.

  2. 2024 Power rankings on November 1, 2023? Surely this has value beyond ESPN starting the offseason by scraping through the bottom of the barrel and into the mantle of the Earth right out the gate.

  3. Luciano hype faded? What? He’s 22 years old and doing fine. Shit article can’t wait to prove it wrong (except the part about getting ohtani and Yoshinobu)

  4. Leave it to an espn listicle to tell it like it is and keep it short and sweet. Outclassing our local media’s long, winding, euphemistic coverage of the team. No commending Farhan for ownership building something in Arizona or for not signing a long, failed contract. Just they got exposed, Luciano ain’t the answer, the new Skipper may help these losers stop scaring the hos.

  5. I count 12 teams with worse records than us this season, and we stand to lose no one of significance in free agency this offseason, except maybe Manaea. So unless they believe that 6 teams with worse records leapfrog us this offseason, this ranking seems pretty harsh. And for whatever you think about Luciano, it would be pretty hard to downgrade from what we had at shortstop this season.

Edit: I see that they literally list our end of season ranking (18th). How do they explain the fairly large discrepancy between our end of season ranking and our ranking now? Lol

  6. Power rankings are bad anyways, but who fucking cares about them especially almost a week before Free Agency?

  7. Imagine a world in which anyone cares about what ESPN says–that network has lost millions of subscribers for a reason. In 2012 every last one of their baseball analysts called the World Series for the Tigers. But now we’re supposed to care what they have to say about rankings prior to whatever trades and free agent signings happen? Just more clickbait.
