  1. Man as a UH alum I had mixed feelings watching Sasser ball against the Pels. In the end a good scenario for me, my guy did great but my team still won.

Still tho, I know we were without BI and Zion but that was too big a lead to almost give up. Can’t take your foot off the gas in this league.

  2. First time New Orleans has won 4 of its first 5 since 18-19 when they started 4-0. Before falling to 4-6.

    Herb for MVP.

  3. I had this game written off as a loss tbh with us down 4 of our top 7 players. This is a big ass win and this is a good team. PLEASE let this be our year PLEASE

  4. Us with Zion BI Alvarado and Trey would make this team elite

    Good win thooo!!!

    NOT ON HERB

  5. Matt Ryan at this point gotta get minutes even when everyone is back (if that ever happens).

Say what you want about CJ and JV but those veterans play damn near every game. Shoutout to Herb, all defensive-team season in progress.

  6. I’m a Pistons fan and all I want to say is that I didn’t know Matt Ryan was as good as prime Klay

  7. So yeah spacing and shooters make all the difference in the world. It allowed CJ and JV to eat. Incredible how just one honest shooter changes the entire dynamic of the team. Matt Ryan is providing more value than guys who make 10-12 million.

  8. The Pelicans new Big 3. Two Max contract guys that you would be thrilled if they were active for more than 50 games. One 2-way/Minimum contract guy that isn’t allowed to be active for more than 50 games

  9. The 30-something CJ and JV lead the way on the back end of a B2B, each playing 30+ minutes and combining for 56 points, all while our mid-20 somethings max players were cheering them on from the bench.

We are all very fortunate to have these grown men on the team.

  10. CJ and JV are the embodiment of professionalism. Matt is the perfect example of grasping opportunities (looking at you Kira EJ)

  11. Was so proud of young Dyson. Threw the ball away when Matt wasn’t looking, next opportunity takes a deep ass three with the shot clock expiring and drains it. Def has more confidence this season. CJ made the last few min of the game a little too exciting

  12. Dyson despite some meh moments was legit good tonight. Defensively solid, 6 assists, some clutch buckets that stopped piston momentum, 2 3 pointers. Only on 24 minutes too. I think he has a good chance at being a good ball handler for us.

Matt Ryan is the goat. Dude is a streaky shooter but if he’s on, he is on. Great regular season guy to have. You can’t just leave him open which will allow people like Zion and JV to EAT in a playoff scenario. I was super glad when we signed him.

Hawkins shot poorly tonight but another guy that hopefully is developing into someone you can’t just leave open and creates space for our bigger guys and Brandon to ISO weaker defenders to death.

CJ and JV are great vets. They have their flaws but they show up every night and are Ironman type players. We have to have them if this team is to succeed at all during the regular season. Even if BI and Zion stay healthy enough through the season, I doubt they’ll ever both be healthy like the fans and the organization want them to be. Which is okay. It’s why you have guys like CJ, JV, and company to carry the load if one or both of them are out for a few games.

I’m optimistic. I always will be. Maybe we can make something happen come playoff time this season. But it’s health dependent like any other team.

  13. CJ’s postgame was interesting to say the least.
For those who missed it, and my paraphrase attempt might be poor, he said he’ll play every game possible because the day will come when he won’t be able to anymore. Doesn’t want future regrets or to waste his talent. Was asked if that was a message to anyone in particular, responded with “that’s rhetorical”.
