USA Today: Steelers WR George Pickens disassociates himself from the team on social media

  1. The article is definitely a bit of an overreaction IMO. But, this is also something we’ve seen before a few times…

  2. When Kenny threw him a touchdown that was called back Kenny went to celly with him and George didn’t even acknowledge him, felt really uncomfortable.

Regardless of how you feel about Kenny, it’s a terrible look.

Additionally this article is garbage and is full of conjecture and speculation. George is passionate and until he calls Kenny a cracker, I think we let it play out.

  3. Drake London gets 0 targets in a game but says it’s all about winning

    What’s GP’s excuse?

  4. He should have kept his foot in-bounds and this likely does not happen. Frankly this is not shocking, he just had a negative one yard receiving game.

Star talents want to produce along side winning games. Jamar Chase for example basically called out Joe Burrow a few weeks ago for not getting him the ball.

I expect Pickens will be heavily involved next week vs the packers

  5. He’s a young guy, UBER competitive. I like the fact that he’s upset. If he wasn’t then we won’t be able to look forward for a 11 rec. 215 yard game

  6. Unless a Tomlin statement comes out addressing this it’s a non story. Trade deadline passed, he isn’t being cut, show up to work on Monday or whatever

  7. I have maintained since we got this dude that he will be gone when his contract is up. No matter what, I never saw him as wanting to be here. Just a feeling I’ve had about him. A great talent, but I always saw him as temporary here.

  8. There really isn’t any substance to the article. Sure he was the first to leave but maybe he was just upset at himself for the poor game and wanted to poop in his own toilet? The social media stuff may be weird but people do weird shit on social media all the time.

Unless the team says something or he skips practice this doesn’t seem like it matters.

  9. I can understand where he’s coming from. How many offenses in the league would he thrive in? This dude would be a household name if any other team had him. He’s an elite, top of the line talent playing for an inaccurate QB and an incompetent coaching staff.

  10. Dude needs to stop being so fucking whiney & get over himself. This is the shit 15 year old kids do. Grow the fuck up George.

  11. Im not saying gp is a problem, but this has pushed me from slight concern to medium concern.

  12. Pickens attitude and maturity is a big problem! It sucks because he is such a talented player. Likely won’t see a second contract in Pittsburgh and that makes me sad.

  13. I seen this temper early on but didn’t want to really accept it. But this is the reality until he matures. Ups and downs G, it’s about the grind. Buy in and Win it.

  14. Dude is ahead of AB’s pace on the diva curve. (Actually, AB wasn’t nuts until Burfict illegally hit him.)

Sadly, GP acting like a child has been predictable since college. We knew his deal when we drafted him. I would gladly draft him again. But probably not sign to a second contract – just trade him to Ryan Poles’ latest team for a fortune when he’s in the last year of his rookie deal

  15. Everyone talking about Days of Our Stillers like they don’t hate us because they ain’t us. George Pickens is our lovable weirdo working through a tough stretch of games from a production standpoint.

I have no doubt he will go off next week and do some goofy shit while doing it because that’s the kind of stallion he is 💛🖤

  16. Who cares? They have a day or two off probably and he’ll be back. He played poorly last night, pouted and didn’t do anything to contribute to the win. He’ll grow up a little and everything will be fine.
