Marcus Stroman has opted out of his contract with the Cubs that had $21 million remaining for next season. He’s now a free agent, per @JonHeyman

Any chances he…

  1. I can’t see him getting much more than this? Maybe I’m not as high on him as others are.

  2. Not sure I want him after looking at his stats if he thinks he’s going to get more than$20 million

  3. Didn’t he trash the Cardinals? Also only thrown for 180 innings once in the past 6 years. High risk for his age due to the effort he needs to exert because of his height

  4. Would love this at a reasonable price (3/50?). He can’t be the top guy, but he’s been a good pitcher for a long time.

  5. i don’t want stroman. we have enough pitch to contact pitchers and his first half was an anomaly. not to mention he’s 33 and injury prone.

  6. Absolutely love that cubs didn’t trade stroman and bellinger at the deadline just to miss the playoff anyways

  7. Why would we sign the anti-Bud Norris?

Stroman has never beaten the Cardinals pitching for thr Cubs. Let em do it! 🤣

I don’t mean to be mean, but 5’9″ isn’t doing it on the mound for many years these days on that mound.

  8. I would be fine with him as a 4 or 5 as he is a groundball pitcher with an almost 60 percent groundball percentage. He also has a very low homerun rate per 9 innings.
