Japanese pitcher size comparison (Ohtani, Yamamoto & Darvish)

  1. FYI: the most successful Japanese pitchers that have played in MLB have all been way taller than average Japanese height. Ohtani, Darvish, Nomo, Tanaka, Iwakuma, Matsuzaka etc. are all in the 6 foot to 6’5 range. Not to detract from Yamamoto’s pitching, there’s successful shorter guys like Stroman and Gray here but it might be a factor when teams consider him.

  2. Damn, Yamamoto looks like a regular guy. If you didn’t tell me this was him, I’d say that he couldn’t throw 99mph.

Ohtani’s been working that right arm suspiciously more than the left. Huh

  3. I’m just here to say I love Ohtani and glad to see yet another picture of him. I can’t wait until his arm heals
