Ohtani is a tank.
FYI: the most successful Japanese pitchers that have played in MLB have all been way taller than average Japanese height. Ohtani, Darvish, Nomo, Tanaka, Iwakuma, Matsuzaka etc. are all in the 6 foot to 6’5 range. Not to detract from Yamamoto’s pitching, there’s successful shorter guys like Stroman and Gray here but it might be a factor when teams consider him.
Ohtani is pretty massive even compared to the biggest guys in MLB.
