I’m pretty sure I have the sports section from that day saved in a bin somewhere in my closet. That 2012 season was magical. I was a sophomore in high school, and it was the first time the A’s made the playoffs since I started following them. I really thought we were going to go all the way.
I’m old enough to have been in high school when the A’s were making their World Series run in 1988-1990.
Yes, the A’s won it all in 1989, but honestly, I’ve never had as much fun watching the A’s as I did in 2012. it was a mix of magic, fun, and unique characters. That final game of the season in 2012 when they won the AL West during the last day of the season at the Coliseum was an energy like no other.
2012 was such a fun season. I went to about 15 or so games that year, several of them walk offs. Lot of good memories from that team.
Just one Angel Hernandez blown call to beating the Giants in a World Series
I was around 12 and delivering papers for the trib back when they printed it on green paper to celebrate the early 70’s WS championship. ( Don’t remember if it was 72, 73 or 74… I think they printed it on green paper twice during that amazing time)
Not to take away from what you’re saying at all, 2012 was an awesome A’s year!
