[Joey Votto] Thank You

  1. Wait so he is not retiring? He only said “if my last day playing as a Red” and it sounder like a thank you to Cincinnati and not a goodbye to baseball.

Cashman has GOT to be lacking his chops at the idea of another aging vet.

  2. He’s so right about the Cincinnati roads. I lived in Cincinnati for two years and for a MidWest city, anything outside of the downtown grid was a complex spaghetti (or Skyline Chili) of meandering roads, dead ends, hills, railroad crossings, and downright difficult to navigate inside of the 275 loop. I had a 15 minute commute to work and had developed 4 to 5 different routes to use depending on how the railroad crossings went and if I didn’t, the most direct route could take over an hour sometimes.

As far as cities that I’ve been to, it’s between Cincinnati and Boston when it comes to hardest to navigate.

I also still have it high on my bucket list of doing an interview with Votto over a game of chess.

  3. Thoughtful and well spoken. Hope he gets to accomplish whatever MLB goals he still has for himself.

  4. I canโ€™t believe I witnessed, in person, Joey Vottos last game as a Reds player and his subsequent last ejection as a Reds player. End of an era.

  5. Joey should have retired last year. He was injured 2/3 of the season and has mostly been ineffective.

I hate to see the legends trying to milk out their career as I only want to remember their prime.

  6. Hopefully the Reds *at least* give him one of those one day contracts to give the fans a goodbye in Cincy.

  7. Fox should honestly consider replacing A-Rod or Jeter with Votto. He’d be fantastic on TV
