This isnt an issue of whether the sack warrented a flag.
The biggest horseshit part of this was that Washington originally recovered the ball and it looked like it might be a turnover. They threw the flag so the turnover wouldn’t count.
The refs panicked and threw a flag because they needed the score to stay close. Then had to come up with a reason for the flag so they picked something subjective like roughing the passer so New England could keep the ball. They swallowed them the next play when Washington’s DB would have intercepted the ball as well if not for OPI.
