  1. Clarkson is 13-48 (3-21 on threes) in his last 3 games, if you were curious how that’s going

  2. I could live with the guard play if we played defense. I could live with the defense if the guards could pass.

I could deal with the losses if they were competitive.

We’re broken right now and it’s gonna start getting to guys

We need a change relatively soon can’t loose the good we currently have.

Edit: just looked over the stats and I have to add we had 32 assists and 23 turnovers.

Kelly had 8 assists and 0 turnovers… without Kelly we helped our team score just as much as we helped the bulls score.

  3. The Clippers and Grizzlies should be absolutely embarrassed taking L’s from this absolute shit of an NBA team.

  4. God. I was never a fan who thought we were a playoff team, but this is worse than I expected. Just terrible.

Lauri’s contract situation with just one year to go, and the team playing this bad is going to give Ainge another heart attack.

  5. Clarkson and THT combined for 10 turnovers on 5/19 shooting. That’s amazing from your starting backcourt.

  6. GAME NOTES:

Another atrocious game to watch. Both of our starting guards, THT & Clarkson had 5 turnovers a piece. They had 10 assists combined and 10 turnovers combined.

    3 players played really good:

Walker Kessler looked really good and dominant today against a pretty good Center l ineup of Vucevic and Drummond. Kessler had 15 points, 15 rebounds (11 offensive!!!) 4 blocks, and 1 made 3 pointer. He played the most minutes of any game so far this season too. He really looked good. He was running back on defense and recovering quickly, and deterring so many shots.

Lauri Markkanen also had a very very good game. 5-12 from 3, 3-3 from inside the arc. 29 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists in 34 minutes of action. He was dominant today, getting whatever look he wanted and hitting it. 8-8 from the line as well.

John Collins was the last player who played pretty dang good. 6-9, 1-2 from deep, 14 points 6 rebounds. He did have 5 fouls, but he was playing very well offensively.

    3 players played good:

Kelly Olynyk with another Klynyk masterclass. 13 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 0 turnovers in 23 minutes. 5-7 shooting, 2-3 from 3. He provides such a dynamic look for us and we definitely need his playmaking. It’s such a shame he is the one consistent passer on our team.

Keyonte George looked plain good. He didn’t do too much, but ended with 5 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers. He looked a bit frustrated out there by the lack of passing by our other guards (particularly Sexton). I want to see him be more aggressive in hunting for a shot.

Sexton played pretty good all things considering. 14 poitns, 6-10 shooting, 1-3 from deep. He had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, but only 1 turnover. While he was hitting shots, the ball tends to stop when it gets into Sexton’s hands. He refuses to pass to the open man, and instead will try to make something for himself.

    2 players played terribly:

Jordan Clarkson. 3-14, 1-8 from 3. Outside of the one game against Memphis where he looked great, he has shot the ball terribly. His last 5 games (aside from the memphis 8-13 showing), he is shooting 15-56, and 3-25 from 3. What a terrible slump. Pair that with 15 turnovers to 19 assists, he is not doing anything positive out there.

THT. While he calmed down on the shooting aspect compared to his 20 attempts last game, he still looked bad. 2-5 shooting, 1-3 from 3, 5 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. 5 turnovers.

All of our guards (besides Keyonte) drive into the paint and proceed to lose the ball. It is so frustrating for me to watch them either put up a terribly contested shot, or simply lose the ball on a bad pass or lack of awareness.

I’m trying to keep hope up for Agbaji, but he just isn’t doing it for me. 10 minutes tonight, 1-3 shooting, 1-2 from deep. 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 turnovers, 2 fouls. He is out there doing a bunch of nothing. I’ve tried to stay as neutral on him as I can but I’m frustrated at his regression. He was looking so good and confident towards the tail end of his last season, and now he looks like he did to start his rookie year. Bad stuff…..

The overall looming negatives of this game is our turnovers. We had more turnovers than fouls. 22 turnovers which led to an insane 30 points off of turnovers. Meanwhile, we only forced 8 turnovers, and had 1 point off of it. We couldn’t stop the 3, which is saying something from a team like the Bulls who is not a good 3 point shooting team. We outrebounded them, had more assists than them, but our turnovers and inability to not get back after a turnover killed us.

Terrible effort tonight. I hope Hardy pulls some early Snyder BS like calling a timeout and just staring at the players, or screaming at them. We need to wake up.

    2-6.

  7. Might be a long season friends. We’ve got a long ways to go though! At least it’s basketball season, and at least the games are on KJZZ.

  8. So…. Are we going to change anything? No lineup switches? No different schemes? Anything?

  9. Tank, keep the pick. Trade everyone besides Lauri, Walker, Ochai, Taylor, Keyonte, or Brice

I’ve been spoiled as a Jazz fan since 2017. Yeah we didn’t make the playoffs last season, but I enjoyed last season.

Get second round picks, or if lucky first round picks for Clarkson, Collin, THT, Kelly, and John. John hasn’t played bad, but I don’t think he’s a fit with Walker.

Only take serious trade offers for Lauri if a Rockets, or Thunder are crazy to offer Jabari Smith, or Jalen Williams for Lauri, like how the Pacers traded Sabonis for Tyrese

This season is a tanking season. I’m disappointed. Yeah I didn’t expect to be a contender, but losing in 4 games as the 8th seed would’ve been the best case scenario, but I’d rather not make the play in, lose, and give the Thunder pick 12, while we get no pick, and no playoffs

  10. I’m still mildly optimistic so here’s a few of my takes

-Ochai is crazy underrated and id start him immediately for the defensive purposes and development

-holy fuck I need the Hendricks development, again for defense

-Colin Sexton needs to be traded instantly

    -THT/Clarkson or THT/Sexton or Sexton/Clarkson lineups don’t work and I can’t wait till we’re done with them

-please trade for a Playmaking point

My only genuine concern right now is similar to everyone else’s but the guard play is killing the chances of this team getting better, but it’s game 8, although I’m a lot lower than I was last game

  11. My biggest concern is that Hardy isn’t trying different starting line-ups.

I don’t understand why he is trotting out the same tired back court every game when we have nothing to gain. Insanity is doing the same thing…

I loved Hardy last year for his team chemistry, different line-ups, and enthusiasm. All 3 of those seem missing in year 2.

  12. I know the NBA doesn’t do it, but I really think the Jazz should be relegated and the NBA give Seattle a new team.

  13. I love JC and I love what he does for the team WHEN he’s making shots but I just can not ride the roller coaster any longer.

  14. We have the talent to play much better than this.

The lineups, cohesion, and schemes are not working at all.

Jazz fans deserve better than this, we aren’t winning the chip obviously but we can be competitive, it’s almost not worth watching.
