Please put all this money not tied in a manager to a nice offseason signing please. I really hope he works out and becomes a long-time Met.
I’d have done it for less than half that.
So $1.5 million a year when Counsell would’ve cost at least $8 million a year to match the Cubs and realistically a lot more than that because there’s no real evidence he wanted to come here and just wanted to come here.
Honestly I can’t blame Cohen. At a certain point it doesn’t matter if he has more money than god – that’s a pretty crazy amount for a manager. What matters a lot more is spending the money to get a good team on the field.
Odds he lasts the full 3 years? I really hope he does even though I know nothing about him. We just need some stability
