[Brett Kollmann] Doing research tonight on how it’s somehow possible for the Bills to be so high in EPA but so low in scoring drive percentage, and I’ve found an interesting little connection for the struggling teams. They aren’t stalling out in field goal range. Either they get TDs, or nothing.

  1. (2/3) In weeks 1-4 when the Bills started okay, they had the highest scoring drive percentage in the league…bolstered by a field goal drive percentage of 21.4% (8th).

Weeks 5-6, their field goal drive percentage plummeted to 5.9% (31st).

That’s why the offense feels all or nothing.

(3/3) Also they went 9/9 on field goals in those first 4 games, and 3/6 in the next five.

So even in the (fewer) times when they do stall out in range, they are less efficient there. I believe two of those misses were 50+ yarders, but still.

  2. I feel like if we stall in field goal range, it’s because we started in field goal range.

  3. EPA is such BS. Perfect example is a bad team like Buffalo having a high EPA. Run the fucking ball more. It’s not brain surgery.
