  1. This story has an exchange that’s missing from the Adam McC thread. Namely:

    >**Many Brewers fans are hurt by your decision. What do you say to them?**
Counsell: “I think as I was going through this process, it became clear that I needed and wanted a new professional challenge. At the same time, look, I’m grateful to be part of this community. And that’s going to continue, hopefully, because it has nothing to do with baseball, that part of it. I’m looking forward to being part of a new community and hopefully impact our community well, too. But as I went through it, it just became clear that I needed a new challenge.”

No sense there on the timing of “process”–could have been early September, could have been while being interviewed. Who knows?

But the idea that he “needed and wanted a new professional challenge” says to me that ultimately he wasn’t going to consider a counter from the Brewers.

  2. Going to a big market team with an owner who will spend a lot of money definitely is not as much of a challenge.

  3. I thought the general professional challenge was to win a world series, no? Guess I am not manager material then.

  4. Are you able to bring eggs into the stadium?

Brewers website does say personal size food items 🤷‍♂️

  5. The biggest challenge resides right here in Milwaukee.

Arguably the hardest franchise to be successful with.

    Cubs aren’t a challenge.

They have a huge payroll. How is that more challenging?

He wanted out of Milwaukee because of Mark A
