Jason Benetti is leaving the Sox broadcast booth

  1. Unbelievable. As if the state of this franchise couldn’t get any worse, now Benetti is leaving to go work for the Tigers

  2. This one hurts more than losing TA or anything else. Now there’s truly no reason to watch this failure of a franchise. I’m out on this franchise until Reinsdorf dies, there’s literally no reason to waste my time and watch these games anymore.

  3. Wow… absolutely fuck this… one of two reasons to even tune in to the games the last couple seasons, now gone. We feared it happening and now here it is.

Absolutely fuck this organization for letting this happen. And FUCK you, Reinsdorf.

  4. No fucking way I just saw the news. This is bullshit and this team deserves to be sent to the sun.
Jason and Steve made watching the games fun.

  5. How does the white sox front office expect me to watch a dumpster fire without Jason? Just put the team behind a stadium sports paywall so I won’t have access to care at this point.

  6. You just have to laugh at this point.

Not just leaving the Sox… he’s going to the TIGERS.

  7. I figured if we lost him, we’d lose him to his growing list of National broadcasting responsibilities not the fucking Tigers.

From every level all this organization does is bring pain.

  8. This hurts but I’m happy for Jason. He’s really good at his job. Too good for this dumpster fire of a franchise.

  9. This might be the last straw. No matter how atrocious this team and org was/is, I always found comfort and entertainment from Jason and Stoney. At least half of that is now gone, and this entire atmosphere is quickly tanking.

  10. If you know me you know I’ve been saying for years now that Benetti was the single most valuable asset the team had for years now. More valuable than any single player. He brought me to the screen through some bad years.

I dunno guys. This might truly be the last straw for me and this team. I will follow them all offseason like I do, but I’m not sure my fandom is going to survive 2024.

Wish nothing but the best for Benetti

  11. The White Sox are really trying their best to be completely unwatchable next season. Benetti and Stone made a lot of shite games easier to stomach, and now we don’t even have that…

  12. This is the worst news we’ve had in years. Devastating.

And to the fucking TIGERS?! WHY?! I Dont understand.

  13. I don’t even understand. Reading this I assumed he was moving on to bigger and better things which I can understand but the fucking Tigers?? I can only assume that they threw a bag at him and Jerry, right on brand, wouldn’t pony up.

  14. Can’t do hype days, can’t pay their players, can’t find a good manager, can’t win games and now they can’t keep their hometown broadcaster.

This team is giving me more and more reasons to stop caring.

  15. He didn’t leave because we suck. He left because of how awful contract negotiations have been with the Sox thus far. Apparently upper management low balled him so bad that they couldn’t match what *checks notes* Detroit offered. This is just a big fuck you to upper management with the white sox, and frankly I’m team Jason on this one.

  16. So he’s leaving his hometown team that he grew up rooting for to go work for the Tigers? Way to go, Jerry!

  17. I mean… there’s no way Stone is actually staying, right? He has been so adamant that the only reason he has continued broadcasting so long is because how much he enjoys working with Jason. Dude was ready to be done with Hawk.

  18. Can anyone give me one reason to continue on as a fan of this team? Besides “you were born into it”? Because right now, I don’t see a reason.

  19. Okay this legitimately hurts the most out of everything.

My wife would ask me “Well if the Sox are so bad, why do you still watch the games?” and my answer was always because Jason and Steve made things enjoyable by listening to their commentary and banter.

This is the low point for me and I sincerely am beyond disappointed and sad.

  20. I felt a great disturbance in the force. Like the remaining 12 Sox fans all screaming out at once
