Why does Maxx get no respect?

This guy really said “Maxx needs 20 sacks to have a chance at winning DPOY”. Like dude if he gets 20 doesn’t win that would be a joke. I should just delete BR lol

  1. Unfortunately as long as the Raiders aren’t winning, he will always be overlooked…

But watch him play and I genuinely think he is the hest defensive player in the league. The success he has had with no support in the trenches; I don’t think the any of the DE’s can replicate his success or even his consistency. Now that Koonce is starting, his numbers have improved, along with the other D linemen.

  2. The Raiders and their players will not get any respect until the wins start piling up. Most of sports media is holding up and praising only the “winners” while truly great players on less successful teams are ignored or dismissed. Sad

  3. Even though team performance shouldn’t matter for DPOY, the fact is since 2010, only 1 DPOY played for a team that didn’t make the playoffs.

  4. Wins matter for most awards.

I think what also holds people back on Maxx is that the narrative is that he’s *just* a hard worker/scrappy/no quit guy.
He is those things he’s also an incredible athlete with very good bend and length.

  5. Yeah, but that’s what winning does. Maxx needs more exposure. Winning in national stage games will get writers attention.

  6. Gotta win games. That’s how the media works.

I don’t think he will be considered at all unless we get to 9 wins.

  7. Dudes got some Patriots shit in his background. Maybe he’s a McDaniels stan and is salty or some shit

  8. Based on impact on the most plays, it’s either Maxx or Myles Garrett IMO so far this season, and Maxx doesn’t have near as talented of players with him.
