It feels half hearted. I agree with the sentiment that unless the core are willing to get involved, there’s no point.
We had a 40 year old defensman in a fight.
To me, that’s not inspiring. This “toughness” will be short lived. It’s not going to be a “thing”.
They’re definitely getting better this game though and I would wager it has nothing to do with those fights but the actual goal scoring.

After both fights the Canucks defence were not stepping up to hit as much (I felt), so I don’t care about the goals, mission accomplished.
Refs were out to screw the Leafs but without the dinner & movie first.

Yup I hear ya. It’s the pain of being a leaf fan FYI. Of 145 fights in the league so far this year. 14 had an extra instigator call. 2 of those were tonight back to back against the leafs. Nuff said.
