The amazing game 6 followed by anti climactic game 7 is a weird phenomenon.
Game 7 was a totally different game. Game 6 was a thriller. They’re looking at INDIVIDUAL games, not series of games. Hell, game 6 was so good that even Pete Rose said it was the greatest game he ever played in… and they lost.
Game 7 of the 1924 World Series, with Walter Johnson getting the win after pitching four innings from the pen
So Don Larsons WS perfect game isn’t? That’s insane. They’re wrong.
Some people think the Red Sox won that series
It’s kind of weird. I was reflecting on how some of the games that were called “Instant Classics” like the Braves Division Series won’t be remembered because the team lost and games won by a team in the playoffs that ends up losing don’t get memorialized. Then I remembered this game.
I’m not sure why most redsox history is considered the best of mlb history.
*Sorry guys, I gotta go see about a girl*
I’m probably biased, but 2011 WS game 6, end of discussion.
So far as I know it is the only individual game in MLB history that has an entire book written about it. Fascinating read.
My BOSOX fan friends still claim Boston won the ‘75 Series 3 games to 4.
Mad Bum coming in relief to close out 2014 WS was pretty epic, so many epic memories from 2010,12, & 14
Robin Williams character in Goodwill Hunting describing this play is one of my favorite scenes of all time.
