Perhaps. But the way the team won the first one was an all timer in sports in general so it worked out. I wouldn’t have it any other way
This post needs a trigger warning.
TO playing the Super Bowl and being a total stud with basically a broken leg was amazing to see
Reebok did midnight green so much better.
Yes. Can’t turn the fucking ball over 4 times. Love McNabb, won without TO for 2 playoff games, but 3 INTs just can’t happen in the Superbowl.
NFC was really bad that season and they didn’t play well enough in the Super Bowl 🤷♂️
The 2002 team (prior to Donovan’s injury) was the best of that era.
If I could change just one moment in sports history, it would be the outcome of Super Bowl 39. The ripple effect would have been extraordinary for these two and the entire franchise.
TO averaged a TD a game that season… ain’t no way a team, even the Pats, shouldn’t/couldn’t keep him out of the end zone that season unless… 🤨🧐🤔This should have been our first SB team w/o a doubt.
The game was definitely bigger than McNabb.
>Most can agree that the ~~’04~~ ’02 squad should’ve been the first to win a Super Bowl
To the best of my knowledge Hurts has yet to vomit moms spaghetti on the field
Because of McChoke they lost. McNabb reminds me of Dak Prescott, he does good in the regular season but always chokes in the big games.
TO was a warrior. McNabb was infuriating. Those Eagles teams ought to have won at least two Super Bowls, but the head coach and QB just weren’t up to the task.
The ‘02 team was maybe a little better (except for WR) and would’ve had an easier game against the Raiders in the Super Bowl
Aj feeley should have played and been the Nick foles before Nick foles …
Only Duo I’ve witnessed in my life that was this dominant was Randy Moss and TB
I love Jalen and AJ, but goddamn the ridiculous revisionist history applied to that era of Eagles football is ridiculous.
McNabb has a winning record in the playoffs and led us to FIVE conference championships. How many did we reach during the 20 years between Jaws in XV and every Eagles fan booing because we didn’t draft a fucking running back? ZERO.
McNabb took us to 3 straight NFCCG with dogshit ball catchers that made Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham look like All-Pros.
TO is a fucking weirdo but on the field he was a stallion, and for my money he’s the 2nd best to ever lace them up at his position.
For all the love older Eagles get, Randall and Reggie had *ONE* playoff win. And it was against the Saints, whose best player was their place kicker. They never won shit against good teams.
Y’all have reached the point where you’re so spoiled off the modern success of the franchise, you shit on the very players who transformed us from perennial also-rans to legitimate contenders.
Sorry for most of you not around, but 1980/81 should have been the first. We were dominating and somehow lost to a wildcard Raiders team that never should have beat us.
My dad said the 04 season with TO and Mcnabb was special.
Patriots cheated so hard in the early 2000s that the NFL lit the evidence on fire and buried the ashes. Don’t bring this up on /r/nfl tho, you’ll be downvoted into oblivion by the same people who will tell you *fuck the Astros*
I was at the game where TO got injured, was only 10 and it was my first. What a dog.
Should have been 2002
If we should’ve, we would’ve. They did the best they could and I accept that out of TO and Donovan, despite everything. We got the Super Bowl win we deserved so far
9 catches for 180 with his ankle barely holding together.
McNabb gets shit on a lot (sometimes rightfully so…) but imagine what he could have done if he had more than 2 years with a stud WR
I’m on the ’91 Squad should’ve been the first team.
The ’02 Eagles where Ronde Barber returned that TD in the NFCCG should have been the first SB, imo. They were so great that year and would have murdered the Oakland Raiders in the SB. They just shit the bed against Tampa.
