[Easton Freeze] On the Mike Vrabel hot seat…

  1. I don’t think he should be fired but I also don’t think you can call him proven because we once caught lightning in a bottle and made the afc championship game with a pretty talented roster

  2. I don’t think he should be fired but Ran or the FO should step in with a resounding “all the bros you hire suck and are hurting the team.”

  3. I don’t think anyone but the fans believe he’s on the hot seat. No one inside the building is even discussing the possibility of firing him. Whether that should or shouldn’t be the situation, I really don’t know.

  4. I don’t think this is a bad take. I mean the fact is Jon Robinson ruined our roster with bad pick after bad pick. I don’t think Vrabel’s seat is ice cold, only because I think he’s coordinator hires have been very questionable. But he definitely deserves at least another full year to turn things around.

  5. I think Vrabel is somewhat fortunate to be honest.

Tannehill stepping in and becoming the guy bought him some extra years just as Jon Robinson’s fuck ups have bought him some extra years.

I’m sure he has through 2025 at the very least, depending on how well Ran does with free agency and the draft.

  6. Vrabels fine. Shouldn’t be on the hot seat. This roster is dog water (even though half the people agreeing with me thought we were winning the division this year).

But, if the Patriots want to offer you a 1 and a 3 or something along those lines I’m all in on Ran bringing his own guy with a completely revamped offensive scheme. Like I said Vrabel is a good coach. I’m not sold on him as an elite coach though. Id rather have the Pats top 5 pick.

  7. I understand the roster sucks but when the team constantly comes out looking flat and lacking energy, that would be the coach right?

  8. This is basically the entire POV one needs to have rn.

I get being upset with the conservative approach – but firing him after JUST firing jon and thus giving mike the vote of confidence as the more valuable asset would be just…the mark of an unstable franchise.

Everything sucks ass right now. Clearly there are things Mike needs to do better, but acting like one off-season was going to be enough to offset what jrob did to this team in the ‘20-‘22 drafts is an uneducated opinion and nothing more.

If we’re in the same situation in two years – yeah..he’s gonna get fired. Doing it now would be a process failure. He’s a known commodity. Very, very , very good HC who’s earned the shot to work with ran and turn the roster around.

  9. It makes absolutely no sense to fire or trade Vrabel.

He does deserve criticism for some decisions, but you name a perfect head coach who makes every right decision.

People need to chill the fuck out.

The team has a huge talent issue, so quit overreacting about a few mistakes by Vrabel.

  10. 3-13 in his last 16 games. Haven’t won a road game in a year. The team is undisciplined. Both the offense and defense (Vrabels speciality) suck dick. Vrabel constantly hires his friends who also suck. Fire Vrabel and go get an offensive coach.

  11. If the goal is to win a superbowl, then he needs to go. The only playoff success he has had was when we had an awesome line and Henry was able to run over the opponents. We have had zero success in the playoffs once he needed to adjust that formula.

  12. He’s a good coach. Could you do better? Yes. Could you do worse? Also yes.

There are very real concerns about his ability to hire coordinators and overall conservative coaching style. I don’t want him fired, but I can’t blame people for starting to look in that direction.
