  1. I can already see the “Joe Barry really turned it around in the last month” narrative forming 🤦‍♂️

  2. “After the 63-17 loss at the hands of the Chiefs, several veteran players held a closed door meeting with Coach Barry to discuss letting them play more aggressively. He agreed that a fast and free approach could play more to their strengths. Over the last five games of the season, the unit showed marked improvement holding those teams to only 23.8 points per game and statistically ranking in the top 15 in yards allowed. Packers management are taking renewed interest in Barry’s ability to adapt and look to make a big splash on a young and raw defensive athlete who did not start on their college team with this year’s #12 pick in the first round. Insiders note that they plan to proactively waive whoever they choose with this year’s 3rd round pick gained in the trade with the Bills”

  3. I could see saquan having a 150+ yd game. Vikings will have a ton of pass yards. Justin Fields will get alot of rushing yds to end his career as a bear.

  4. There is one thing worthy to note. There is a belief that Barry’s contract is only 3 years as that is the norm. When it comes to keeping a coordinator, it’s easier to justify keeping them on than justifying a new contract. Even if the defense performs better against weaker competition, the team may move on due to his contract running out.

  5. There’s no way we keep him after what has transpired year after year. His contract is up. See ya Joe.

  6. I have to think the powers that be can’t think he’s doing a good job. But I also know the Packers don’t have a real, robust analytics department. There’s a real world possibility they see a lot of low scoring games and shrug and think it’s all fine.

  7. Don’t think it’s really something to be worried about. Keeping Barry would mean renegotiating a new contract. I don’t see that happening at this point.

If it was about whether they cut him loose a year early, sure. But he’s a dead man walking at this point.

  8. Yes, the coordinator needs to be fired but he’s not the one out there missing tackles. At some point the linebackers and safeties are gonna have to step up.

  9. I thought the Packers were about winning championships? If the HC keeps Joe Barry, then clearly we don’t aim for championships.

  10. Barry is on the final year of his contract. He won’t be back next year regardless of what happens over the rest of this season, you can book that.

  11. Joe Barry has dirt on a lot of important people, it’s the only explanation for how he keeps finding work.

  12. It’s not saying much, but Joe Barry has out-coached Matt LaFleur this year, last year, and the playoff game in 21. If Barry gets fired, the rest of the coaches should be gone after this season too. And I hope that’s what happens.
