Jeff Schultz on X

“Arthur Blank is not going to fire Arthur Smith this week, or next week, or likely any time soon. The Falcons’ owner is expected to let this season play out, and that’s the right move. But Smith knows he has to start winning.”

  1. The only surprise is anyone is surprised. I would give it 50/50 he is fired at the end of the season barring something along the lines of losing out. Blank always hangs on too long.

  2. We lost to a rookie Will Levis in his first start (while allowing 4 TD passes), Dobbs after being traded to the Vikings in the same week, and Kyler on a 1-8 cardinals in his first week back from an ACL injury. This is quite possibly the worst 3 consecutive losses in falcons history given the circumstances. It sure would be nice to have the kind of job security Arthur Smith has. It would seem that Arthur Blank is perfectly fine with mediocrity.

  3. I just stopped by to say Jeff Schultz is a moron that should be covering Georgia Tech Football and possibly lacrosse. Outside of that, he has no business writing about sports

  4. I don’t think it’s a stretch Blank will let AS play out the season. If he continue on his current trajectory, we could have a great pick in the draft. If he somehow rights the ship, we can make the playoffs (not likely, lol). As Falcons fans, we need to be concerned with what the Falcons do most years. Miss the playoffs, but win just enough games to be outside of where they can draft a franchise QB or a a generational impact player that isn’t a skill position.

However, should AS get blown out at home or even lose after two weeks to prepare for the Saints, our season would effectively be over. If Smith is retained through that scenario, he will be here the rest of the season.

  5. The Atlanta Falcons are an unserious franchise. It’s no wonder they are the oldest major sports franchise without a championship. They don’t deserve fans.

Boycott Home Depot! Fuck the Saints!
