  1. He would be playing well for us if his contract wasn’t that huge. He’s been efficient and is easily the best qb we’ve had post manning.

Hopefully if we sit him down and say restructure or we have to cut you he’ll cave

  2. And yet he’s still nothing more than a game manager at this point in his career. It’s a weird dichotomy where Russ is filling his role as well as we could ask and yet he’s not living up to his contract and as such is a drag on the organization. I’m trying to think of the last QB that was in this situation. Maybe Goff with the Rams?

  3. It’s frustrating to watch this offense at times. Honestly though? I think they are still learning Payton’s system and we are still seeing growing pains. Sometimes that can take an entire season. Russ is still making plays when it matters though and it feels good to get some marquee victories.

  4. You can post any stats you want to try and convince people that Russ is good but I will continue to believe my eyes. Russ is not very good and he is holding this team back.

He is too short to see over the line so much of the field is out of play for him unless he gets outside the pocket.
He is afraid to throw the ball so he holds onto it too long and takes too many sacks.
He can’t read a defense to save his life.

Sure he can make a good play now and then but this offense looks like trash for most of every game. He was paid to be an elite QB that can pick the team up and carry it on his shoulders but he is dragging this team down. I can’t wait to see him run out of town. He is great guy who does a lot of good charity work with his money and his platform but he isn’t the QB I want to watch every week.

  5. Those top four stats sure do get boosted when you hold on to the ball too long, refuse to throw it away, and take sacks because of it thus preventing attempts/incompletions/interceptions. And those bottom two stats just mean that we were losing leading up to the fourth quarter and/or last drive.

  6. To be fair, the defense and the running game are doing most of the heavy lifting. He just finishes the drive by scoring. His yards per game are near the bottom of the league

  7. Thank goodness for Sean Payton! He’s getting the most out of RW with his “less is more” approach!

  8. The emotional whiplash from watching sports lately is insane. Love seeing this W but damn, we gotta fix a few things on offense and learn to stop the run

  9. So, the question now becomes, why don’t we just try to stick with Russ as long as we can and use our draft picks to fill roster holes.

We can draft a QB when we are more sure on a guy we really want.

  10. Who does he distrust more; himself or his receivers? He just won’t let go of the longball. I know it’s hard when he has a defender bearing down on him….but even when he has time, he just doesn’t do it. That being said, he throws so many inaccurate/underthrown balls. Maybe that’s why he won’t fire downfield as much? That turnover by Sutton was because of the shitty RW3 pass. He needs to do something about his accuracy, and maybe his confidence will come back.

  11. It’s wild how good his stats are with how often frustrating this offense is.

At the same time, I think we may be a little tainted by the last 7 years. So the 3 and outs hurt a lot more than it would normally.

  12. Our oline and WR are still an issue.

Also, Russ probably could’ve thrown it up to Jeudy or Sutton when the Bills blitzed, just like the play where Jeudy drew the flag

  13. Somebody in the game thread yesterday said Russel Wilson brought out the crockpot today and I started busting up laughing. Perfect way to describe how he’s cooking this season

  14. They definitely aren’t getting pretty offensive performances but Russ is clearly grinding out some gritty statistics. Honestly the Broncos’ offense and defense are not passing the eye test, even though they are ultimately soaring.

  15. It’s not going to happen because Goodell hates Sean Payton but if the Broncos overcome the biggest blowout in NFL history and have a winning season he should win coach of the year.

  16. I’ve been on this sub talking a lot of shit about our team and I’m very happy and proud that they are making me eat my words. If we can keep this up it’s going to be a great holiday season. GO BRONCOS!!

  17. Losing record all that matters why Russ fans are obsessed with stats blows my mind – Russ does not win games unless he is carried by a his defence.
