My favorite ball

I got this at the very first baseball game I went to in 1988 : The year of Morgan’s magic . We got seats 1 row behind the Red Sox dugout in Fenway. My friend’s father scored the tickets from hospital he worked at. I was so excited. I brought my glove and couldn’t believe how close to the field it really was.

It was the first game Roger Clemens game pitched after the all-star break. I forget the inning I was 12 years old. But, I do remember Danny Tartabull was batting . He hit the ball foul I saw it coming stood on my seat reached out with my glove and caught the ball. I remember Marty Barrett diving into the stands and me robbing it from him. He was so mad I didn’t care and so was Todd Benzinger both gave dirty looks. And everyone cussed at the and booed I cheered to the audience lol.

I got the balls signed afterwards by different players when I went I use to have several balls but through the years they had been lost

One thing I remember the ball smelling like vasoline. Was that Clemens cheating? I always wondered that.

If anyone has the mlb subscription where you view old games and that game is available. I would love to have a copy of the part of me catching it.

I have collected many autos through the years and this ball can never be topped
