  1. Braxton’s actual play has been pretty good but penalties are killing him.

Last year he played 1033 snaps with 12 penalties

This year 249 snaps and he’s already at 7

  2. If he doin this why the sub keep sayin draft a tackle with the 1st 2 picks? I say get Harrison and draft a linemen

  3. Pass Blocking Grades:

    1. (DAL) Tyron Smith – 86.1 (6 Games)
    2. (TB) Tristan Wirfs – 85.1 (9 Games)
    3. (LV) Kolton Miller – 84.5 (9 Games)
    4. (MIN) Christian Darrisaw – 83.9 (8 Games)
    5. (LAC) Rashawn Slater – 83.6 (9 Games)
    6. (DET) Penei Sewell – 82.8 (9 Games)
    7. **(CHI) Braxton Jones – 82.7 (4 Games)**
    8. (DEN) Garett Bolles – 81.4 (9 Games)
    9. (HST) Laremy Tunsil – 80.8 (6 Games)

    ^(**Min. 200 blocking snaps)

PFF grades aren’t conclusive and obviously a small sample size (4 Games), but excited to see what he can do for the remainder of the season.

  4. I know it is unpopular but this is the reason I would not spend a top 10 pick on Fashanu.

Fashanu will almost certainly be better but this isn’t a “hole”. I also think that Braxton does not possess the lower body strength to move inside, so drafting Fashanu would be a marginal upgrade when there are many other position we could target for a much more dramatic upgrade.

  5. Braxton Jones has put so much good tape out i just don’t know why people are clamoring to replace him.

To be fair, Bagent converted pressures into sacks at such a ridiculously low rate. But he still only took 5 sacks over his entire time playing.

  6. Yea, this grade means nothing to me. This is one of those situations where the PFF grade doesn’t pass the eye test.

  7. Does anyone know how PFF graded Borom? To my eye he was awful, but sometimes you get surprised.

  8. If he cleans up this penalties I’ll be very, very happy.

Also, it’s easy to forget that this is only his 2nd year.

  9. this matches my eye test. ive gotten downvoted for saying by people who i think just read articles to give them their opinions. but this ranking matches what ive seen and stated

he doesnt strike me as a penalty-prone guy as much as a younger player who’s gonna be a bit streaky

overall, ya, i think we may just have what we need at LT but the jury is still out. these past 7 games will be big for Braxton Jones and probably the 2nd most eyeballs on him (next to JF1). if it looks like yes he’s our long term LT that would be huge. and if not, that determines some offseason decisions and Braxton would still be an outstanding swing tackle
