  1. Part of me feels like we’re gonna end up with him but I’d rather a siakam type we need defense so bad

  2. We do need another shot creator/bucket getter. We need another athletic piece that has some gravity on offense imo. Maybe he’s the ticket? I dunno, but I am certain Morey is doing his due diligence to find the right piece(s)

  3. We need three point shooting. But getting the salary to match would be challenging. Trading for Tobias would be too much unless we can get a Tobias replacement.

  4. Good lord, imagine a starting lineup with Luka, Kyrie, and Lavine. I don’t even know what that would look like on the court.

  5. I call BS. You can just trade for Buddy Hield who’s contract is $160,000,000 cheaper and give you 90% of what Lavine would give you (and honestly probably more if you factor in availability).

  6. We’re going to end up with a team full of Hanlen clients.

Jojo. Maxey. Oubre. LaVine. Who else is available?

  7. I’m not advocating for this, but, just mentioning that there’s a way we could get both LaVine and DeRozan in exchange for all the contracts we just got from the Clippers plus Tobias. The numbers actually work, but is it worth losing depth and being tied to LaVine’s enormous contract?

  8. My heart desperately wants Lavine on the team man. The Sixers just don’t need him as much as they need defensive talent. They’re slipping down in DEFRTG slowly but surely which I dont know how much to attribute to Oubre or Batum. The problems with the team are becoming more clear but it’s still early.

  9. Our 2 most valuable assets wouldn’t convey until ‘28 at the earliest. On top of that, we can’t realistically match his salary unless we gut the team or trade Tobias.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Chicago got two late or protected firsts for Caruso.

Only way I even consider a Derozan deal is if he were available for filler and the ‘26 okc pick

  10. Threw questions for me are

    1. How’s the knee. Does it have 3-4 years left at least
    2. Is his Defense that bad
    3. Who else is realistically possible between now and next summer

  11. here is the pivotal question on lavine: can you actually acquire a player better than him, on a better contract, if you wait? reminder that philadelphia never signs top tier NBA free agents. so if you think OG is better than lavine, do you think you can sign him? next year’s free agent class is bad. and contracts will keep growing because the cap keeps going up.

im intrigued by the idea of playing lavine as a “wing” with maxey and melton. hes tall enough to check wings, but his defensive effort is meh. then again, oubre was a meh defender too and hes shown the buy-in and commitment here under nurse. chicago is a dumpster fire. a trade to a good team might motivate lavine. still, his knees really worry me long term.

  12. After this can we start banning people who make new threads about this? If you want Lavine youre anti-sixer.

  13. If he stays healthy, and isn’t a complete sieve on defense, then i’m all for it. His contract sucks though, we finally get off Tobias’s contract and now take on Lavine, but at least he has a better chance at living up to his terms as opposed to Tobias

  14. I really enjoy watching Lavine, professional bucket getter and a knock down shooter. I don’t really want him on the Sixers especially on the sort of money he is on. It’s just not a good contract. If it happens I will 100% convince myself it’s a good trade and it will no doubt be fun but I’m not convinced it moves the needle in terms of contending.

  15. I am in favor of trading for Lavine but not because he is a great fit. We need depth and a back up plan if someone gets hurt like Oubre. He would probably start and Melton would be the sixth man, which is kind of where he belongs on this team

  16. I do think we need some help but mostly backup PG. non-Maxey minutes out there are pretty rough. I like Lavine but honestly don’t want another star to be taking 20 shots a game away from Maxey and Jo.
