15. Even with his once in a lifetime talent, I've never understood how a player gets MVP on a team that didn't come close to sniffing the playoffs. Let's hope he ends up on a team whose management is competent enough to build a team where all this talent will actually matter. Most Outstanding Player? There's no doubt. Most Valuable? Not a chance. All that talent is inconsequential when your team finished 16 games under water.

27. As amazing as he was, he brought no value to the league or his bottom feeding team. Hence he was NOT an “MVP” of any kind. For a while the award never went to a player from a non-playoff team, and rightly so. It doesn’t make any sense. If you want to do it this way, just rename the award to “most awesome player” or “player of the year”.
