  1. This feels insane to me. The whole fucking scouting report on Calvin Ridley this year was that he still has the juice but he struggles with press and he had massive plays all game because we refused to put a body on him. I love player autonomy for famous bonehead Kristian Fulton and UDFA Eric Garror. And shouldn’t the coverage be married to the pass-rush in some way? What the fuck are we doing out here

  3. Does he mean personnel? Like Farley was exceptional at playing off man in college, but some are better at playing press man coverage

  5. This has always been the case for Bowen defenses hasn’t it? I’ve got partial memories of a few years ago where we all cried about the DBs constantly giving 10 yards of cushion and the coaches would say “Don’t look at us we aren’t the ones telling them to do that.”

  7. I think that’s pretty damning. If this a Bowen decision to let the players decide this then I think Bowen and DB coach should be let go. If this is a Vrabel thing then I feel like this is a strike towards him.

  26. Isn’t this pretty standard? I remember McCourty and Finnegan talking about this. And I remember Richard Sherman doing a segment when he was playing and he was telling young CB’s how to decide how far to play off, when to press, etc.
