  1. Currently there are 8 Active Japanese players. Of which, 3 have contracts that don’t expire or opt out by 2026. Yu Darvish, Masataka Yoshida and Seiya Suzuki. All three parent teams have been leaked with wanting Shohei and strong offers. Would assume he would want to Join Shohei and one of the three other actives.

  2. It’s a day early, but I am so thankful for this off season. I’m grateful for a front office that stands a real chance to sign these guys. And of course, I’m grateful for Seiya Suzuki.

  3. Apparently there was a rumor or real fact that Ohtani didn’t want to sign with a team that had another Japanese player because he didn’t want to steal their thunder. That became “Ohtani doesn’t want to play with other Japanese players”, so whenever a new Japanese player comes to MLB they get asked this question. Yamamoto isn’t saying he wants to play with other Japanese players, but when asked the question he said he didnt mind playing with a team that has one.

This per a thread on baseball earlier today.

  4. Free slogan ideas for the Cubs marketing team.
