Ryan Poles not safe?

I brought this up a couple of days ago stating that we don’t know how much power Kevin Warren has and was laughed at. I thought he only had control over the management (stadium, revenue being brought in, etc) side of the bears, but maybe not. Thoughts?

  1. I like Poles, I have nothing to base it on, just a feeling. I think he’s drafted well.

I do not like Eberflus. I hate his press conferences, the staff he’s assembled, and the undisciplined players he leads.

The name Eberflus just grates me when I hear it. Hits me like Trestman.

  2. Like I just said in one of the post. We need fresh new owners. This is a business and results product league. Our owners are slow & cheap. The McCaskey family and Virginia Halas need to go and let go!! We need fresh new coaches that are cultured and know what the younger generations are geared towards. This mom and pops no fun shit is old and we not gettin anywhere in this league now. Let it go stupid ass ownership! I hope this is true! Poles pissed me off when he got rid of Roquan! Best thing he did was the move last year wit the Panthers.

  3. I think Poles deserves more time, but tying himself to Eberflus could be his downfall. If he truly thinks Eberflus should get another year, that is a fireable offense.

  4. It’s pure speculation – [Watch/listen for yourself](https://cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/TMnQ033D) 10:54 – 12:06

The question was: Do the Bears bring back Matt Eberflus next season. and what about Justin Fields?

Answer: “I think right now it’s trending towards Eberflus not being back. That is in part due to Kevin Warren’s influence in the organization. He did not hire Ryan Poles, he did not hire Matt Eberflus, I think he is motivated to see what he can do with his own guys in there. I have also heard that Kevin Warren wants to be a little bit more involved on the football side, which may influence the decision there.”

  5. I want to see Poles stay, I like the guy and I think he can do it. Eberflus on the other hand, can go now

  6. Getting rid of Poles would be very Cleveland Browns circa the early 2010s. Firing a GM because the team isn’t good after 2 years of a rebuild. Good way to stay in the gutter of the league. Poles has made 2 horrendous decisions in hiring Flus and trading for Claypool. However the offensive line has come together under him, and many of our young guys are playing well and improving. He deserves a second chance at a coaching hire.

  7. Warren needs to worry about the stadium and keep his nose out of football operations. He not a fan like George he can get fired.

  8. What football experience does Warren have outside of being a executive? Giving him control of the team is pretty much going back to McCaskey. Warren’s main job when he was hired was the new stadium, which seems to be going nowhere. Poles deserves more than two years to rebuild the dumpster fire he took over. Other than too high a pick for Claypool and not getting a true center, his moves have been pretty good.

  9. Thank god. Poles is 100% complicit in this mess and letting him scapegoat whoever would be a mistake.

  10. I don’t think Poles deserves to be let go. He’s made some bad decisions sure but I also think he’s drafted pretty well. It’s only his second year.
