Here is to winning.

I have seen a lot of these comments not for me.

  1. Step 1: Lose all remaining games
Step 2: draft competent, capable, promising, young QB
Step 3: instead of a path (at best) to mediocrity each year, now the NYG have a chance (CHANCE) to build around a franchise QB.

  2. yea tanking isn’t worth it. cam newton and burrow are the only true #1 picks that i can think of recently that have led to great team success

  3. Maybe it’s a new era of Giants fans? PSLs and ticket prices and parking passes and overpriced everything at the stadium but god forbid you don’t pretend to have the moral high ground and hope for a meaningless win in another dumpster fire of a season

  4. What Giants fans do is sit on the couch and run their mouths. Who gives a shit. It’s all the lotto

  5. Fans like OP are so unserious they don’t see the bigger picture we have to rebuild and that starts with the quarterback position

  6. Or we can just let people be a fan however they want to be as long as they aren’t harassing anyone. (i.e. dooming)

  7. Facts. People seem to think winning against the Pats locks us out of a potential franchise QB which it absolutely doesn’t.

Guys outside the top 2 have lots of potential too, plus trading up is always an option if Schoen and Daboll are desperate. The draft is a lottery anyway though

  8. Do you think the Jets would be happy to have Trevor Lawrence vs that meaning less win which resulted in them drafting Zach Wilson?

That’s why you root for the Pats.

  9. The only way to win and win consistently is to get a franchise QB. The 2 guys that look THE MOST like they could end up being that type of player are gonna be taken at the top of the draft. Is it a sure thing? No, obviously not. Is the entire draft process a crapshoot and nobody really knows until these kids get some NFL reps? Yeah, totally. At some point though the Giants are going to need a franchise guy, this season is already a lost cause so why not be REALLY bad and get a shot at one of the consensus top 2 guys? If they do their due diligence and like someone else they can always trade down to get their guy AND more picks. Winning these games hurts the franchise long term. I want the Giants to be consistently good, not taking feel good victories over rivals when the season is already a wash.

  10. I’ll admit last week I was full tank ahead but fuck it now. The Patriots are forever our bitch and it’s folk hero Tommy DeVito time

  11. Careful, you’re going to bring the losers out. You’d think our recent top draft picks were all All-Pros, the way they’re convinced that losing now is a guarantee of future wins. You build a winning culture first and foremost

  12. After the cowboys game II I was good with tanking. I was pissed for about 20 mins after the Washington game cause we won but than a star was born.
Besides we need linemen anyway or we will kill Caleb too. LFG!!!!
    Win out baby!!!! 🫡
    🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

  13. Just letting the season play out. We’ll land where we land and, hopefully, we’ll make due with who we draft.

  14. I’m definitely hoping we lose this week for a better draft pick, against the Patriots [sic]

  15. First round picks Jamarcus Russel (1OA) and Ryan Leaf (2OA) were sure things as well, and are considered among the biggest busts in NFL history.

Pats drafted some QB guy in the 6th, turned out ok for them. Mahones was the 10th pick.

Draft is a crap shoot. Wins are hard to come by in the NFL. Celebrate them when you can.

  16. The only problem with intentionally losing for a better draft pic is Bellecheck will be better at it.

  17. I’m going to say this, watching the team i root for play well and win is fun. Also, It’s absolutely the best thing long term for the franchise to lose to get a higher draft pick. So where I have landed is here, if we win, hell yeah I fucking like when that happens, that makes me feel good. If we lose, damn I don’t like when that fucking happens, that doesn’t make me feel good, BUT we get a better draft pick.

I’ll always root for the win, but won’t cry if we lose.

Some of you based on conversations this week are very frustrated that the players on your team played well and won a football game. Which is sad to me.

You can reside on both sides of the fence here, you don’t have to take a stand. Every conversation on this sub has developed into a “hater vs lover” type thing.

Dj, Gettleman, Daboll, Schoen, Saquon, Tanking. Here identifying or mentioning the merit in one viewpoint automatically wholesale assigns you to a “team”.

For example, it’s an undeniable fact that with better blocking, DJ would have played better. That is a fact because it’s a fact about every QB, but if mentioned here slap the “DJ Lover” tag on me and move on. Same with tanking, I was excited we won, and automatically here comes a brigade of goblins, pitchforks in hand, telling people who were enjoying a win how nearsighted and dumb they were because we don’t see the big picture or how we love meaningless whatever the fucks, in QB purgatory blah blah.

You can be both, I know Reddit loves polarity, but damn just be a fan and enjoy something, and if you can’t, don’t make it a mission to be a fun sponge for others.
