  1. I wouldn’t give up a colt keith or max Clark but I could give up one of the guys behind him. Maybe one of the young pitchers on the team already. I personally think he would be perfect for here. Also has familiriaty with hinch

  2. Personally, I like the opportunity to bring him here, so I would want to make the move, but with a major caveat: he would need to agree to an extension as part of the deal. Assuming that he is amenable to that, I would look to build a package that focuses on Houston’s present need for bullpen arms and a catcher of the future to replace free agent Martin Maldonado. To that end, I would first look to include Dillon Dingler in the deal; at age 25, he’s approaching the “shit or get off the pot” stage of his career, but he’s still young enough to draw interest should a team find him desirable. (I’d even include Jake Rogers if we knew he was on board for an extension.) As for arms, they need bullpen arms, and we have those in spades. I’m of the mindset that bullpen arms can be developed quickly and flipped in deals if need be, so I’d say give ’em anyone they want from our ‘pen.

  3. This lineup would look mighty interesting with Bregman in it. He’s not at his peak but a 4-5 win player who walks as often as he strikes out has a place in every single lineup. He’s a one-year rental who makes $30m, so I don’t think he’s garnering several top 100 guys, but we’d have to give up at least one in addition to 1-2 other of our more intriguing prospects. Maybe something like Wilmer Flores + Izaac Pacheco and another flyer type further down, like Reylin Perez. Idk. Fun hypothetical!

  4. I would love this. Obviously a position of need tho his power numbers would go down in our park. Most importantly he would bring a winning culture/expectation that would really help our young guys

Hes far better than anyone we could get in free agency, and he has that Hinch connection so he might actually agree to come here

  5. Please no.

Bregman is going to seek a contract with a floor of what Anthony Rendon got in 2020(7Y, $245M) and is going to be on the wrong side of 30 for the full duration. No way should the Tigers commit to that for a player power that is already slowing down.

There is no reason to bring him in as a rental.
