  1. Dropping 2 to the sinking Jazz in a tight western conference is fucking sickening. Was this another game where we just never used a challenge?

  2. Need to learn how to win these games.
Period. This wasn’t good enough and they should not feel like it is acceptable. We are too talented to lose twice in a row to Utah.

  3. the whole team cant shoot 3 except hawk. jfc

and what was that last play. Z didn’t shoot when he should then BI shot a stupid shot when he shouldn’t. This team is unserious.

  4. Forget the last possession. The free throw line killed the Pelicans. What the hell? 8 misses at the line? That’s what drawing my ire more than anything.

  5. 2 unacceptable losses in a row. These are the ones that hurt the most when playoff seeding starts getting tossed around

  6. Lots of overreaction while the shit still hurts. Utah smoked us last season, too. we do not match up with them and they always have our number. We are missing our shooters and that’s what we needed tonight. We will be fine. Rotations and staying healthy have been our biggest issues. Pels stacked.

  7. You got the ball to Zion. I would have liked to see him drive and take a shot in the lane personally.

But truthfully they just shoot so many 3s we can barely match teams like that. They took 48 and we took 22.

Can’t play a lineup with 3 or 4 non shooters. Can’t have Herb, Dyson, Nance, Zion, Hawkins. That’s trash. That’s anti-space for Zion. He’s seeing 3 or 4 people in the paint.

We need CJ, Trey, and Matt Ryan.

  8. First of all, we should’ve won that game.

BI had SO much room to drive on that final shot. Very disappointing and frustrating he settled for that jumper.

Zion HAS to start shooting more jumpers from 8-12 feet. Often. A lot. Relentlessly. There is no good reason why he doesn’t. He can just elevate over guys who are already falling back and scared he will drive.

This team desperately needs CJ, Trey, and Matt Ryan back.

Dyson is an elite defender but kills us on the offensive side of the ball unless he’s hitting a floater or scrambling towards the boards.

Herb is just a great fucking basketball player and should be a Pelican for life.

I’m glad Zeller is now getting equal minutes to Nance.

Naji is a great bench player and fulfills a huge role for us. Dude has earned fan-favorite status for life.

We’re injured but should’ve definitely won that game.

On the bright side, we’re young. 24 minutes played by a 21 year old, 25 minutes played by a 20 year old.

  9. Both times AD said “Zion has really found a rhythm” he was pulled from the game within a minute by Willie. Edit: I agree he was too unselfish since the 4 minute mark (his final sub-in) but overall just not great management of his minutes. It’s a consistent issue. I swear everytime we get in the bonus he gets pulled.

Terrible brand of basketball on display. Getting outscored by 30 from behind the arc isn’t gonna be mentioned a lot but it’s a problem. Can’t always rely on trading 2s for 3s.

  10. 76ers next. About to be under 500 again. This team just went hero ball beating the best teams in the league and then just lost 2 in a row againts a bad team without this best player

  11. While we should have won by a considerable margin, I am at least glad it was respectable. Utah played way better than they usually do.

  12. They just dont know how to close games. Herb is a bad 3PT shooter, hits a clutch one and then he believes he is Curry and missed a bad one. Then they get the ball and BI takes the worst shot you will ever see

  13. can we trade for jordan clarkson and kelly olynck? we need shooting off the bench, larry is a negative on offence, jose is not a shooter (took 0 3s today), same with dyson

edit: and if anyone has any better Ideas i’d love to hear them rather than just down voting, because even with trey and cj back we’re still gonna be out shot from 3

  14. 68% from the charity stripe…this is a poorly coached team that regularly fails at the fundamentals of the game.

  15. I liked that modern style JB coached that one time. That was neat.

In all seriousness though, that JB game was fun and I’m sick of moral victories and waiting to be healthy.

  16. Maybe even as a contender, this team just has to accept the jazz have something on us no matter what apparently

  17. Missed EIGHT free throws. The Pelicans have been terrible at free throws for years now. There have probably been dozens of games over the last three or four seasons they EASILY win if they shoot even just 80% from the stripe.

  18. I knew it was coming, and it was still frustrating. Oh well, the Jazz just have our number. CJ inbound and role players will be better in the SKC.

  19. Just really think Willie is just not a good fit for personnel or this era of basketball in general.

I don’t like the 3pt shoot that much, but it wins games, championship and made dynasties. It’s what it is. Perfect defense doesn’t stop 3pters,because all you have to do commit to passing and off ball movement. They’ll always be an open 3 if you try hard enough for it.

You can’t de-emphasize it anymore. Jazz are injured too coming into this game 4-11. No matter how many injuries you have… You still have to shot 3s in the NBA, now. This sub 20 3s a game has to stop. The all-defense/iso offense line up has to die out in games against team not afraid to shoot 3s.
