It’s cool bc mark madden is a troll and a bitch so
I’d be surprised if he didn’t trash Kenny Pickett regularly regardless of how he plays. For Madden this is par for the course.

I personally like Mark because when I worked with him he was very nice to me and helped me out when he didn’t have to.
He does a lot for charity causes and for underprivileged kids that doesn’t get reported specifically because he asks that it doesn’t.
But I totally get why people can’t stand him.
Though I will always have a soft spot for him because of his fight with Jim Wexell the day Ben returned from suspension. Easily the craziest, most chaotic moment of time covering the Steelers and I’ll never forget it.
Just seems to be another media personality who clings to a schtick. Nothing to see here.

Madden’s whole “super genius” deal is absolutely an act and he does it for ratings. He’s good at that act. However, he also absolutely had guys he likes and dislikes for various petty reasons and his “character” will relentlessly go after the guys he dislikes.
He’s always been like this. Ward, Bettis, JuJu, and even with Malkin. He’s an outdated carny hack. Just an old lonely miserable person doing the same shtick for 20 years. No wonder he’s the second rated sports show (out of two) in his time slot.

I remember when Juju was here that Madden set his sights on him almost immediately and then after his third season (I think) he flat out said on air that it didn’t matter whether Juju played well or not that he was going to hound him and be “up his ass” (those were his words) until he left Pittsburgh. I wasn’t a fan to begin with but that just cemented my dislike for him.

I only liked listening to MM when I found out he came from a wrestling background. His whole schtick is like just being the bad guy wrestling guy for attention. I guarantee he doesn’t believe half the crap he thinks/says. I’ve literally heard him call all of Pittsburgh a bunch of idiot yinzers. He’s just there to say controversial things and get ear balls.
I don’t listen to him, because he’s a second rate ripoff of Bobby Heenan and Jesse the Body Ventura
Mark Madden is in the business of getting yinzers angry. That is his shtick and he preforms it marvelously well. Him taking shots at Picket is not personal, it’s a low hanging fruit.
Put yourself in his shoes. After Canada being fired who would be the next person you would talk about? The historically bad offense just rid themselves of its coordinator, the crosshairs naturally pivot to the QB now.

There’s a couple talking heads like him and it’s some pre-crime type behavior. They’re an insane echo chamber I read a comment today that Kenny didn’t have the arm strength convert a 3rd and 17. I feel like if you put takes like that out you need to be put on a list.
You can listen to Madden for hockey opinions and stories about WCW in the early 90’s but anyone that gets Steelers opinions from him deserves to have their fan card revoked.
He’s not part of the Steelers media. He doesn’t have insider connections, he doesn’t interview the players, he’s not even in the stadium on game day, and he’s openly admitted that he doesn’t really even like them. (Except Ben, which should be telling). The Steelers organization has clearly distanced themselves from him for a reason.
I don’t have concrete evidence, but MM might be … just MAY BE … it’s possible that he’s an asshole.

I remember on Twitter once he was talking shit about something and I found all this porn the dude liked and commented on from years back on his account and kept tweeting him screenshots of it. He wouldn’t stop responding and it was absolutely hilarious.
I told google to block any articles from Madden years ago. One of the best decisions I have made in a long time.

For as long as I’ve been online and at Steelers forums, message boards, etc, the one thing everyone has agreed on is Mark Madden is an idiot. How does he still maintain any relevance?
