  4. 21 days to activate him I think. Otherwise he has to go on season ending Injured Reserve. Good luck my friends

  5. How tf is he practicing when he said he’s not ready to practice yesterday… they’ll probably shut him down for the season if he looks nasty at least.

  6. We’ve seen in recent history plenty of guys come back from missing a season and don’t look the same. If he can practice it’s probably in his best interest to do such just to stay loose in anticipation for next year.

  7. Can’t tell what’s more Jets: Rodgers coming back for no reason and getting hurt again or Rodgers proving be can come back quicker than anyone, playing in some worthless games and then retiring.

  10. this is just so frustrating, if we could have just played any sort of competent offense, i have no doubt AR comes back to close it out, but alas…

  13. I definitely respect the majority of fan’s view that this is meaningless and he shouldn’t bother coming back.

    I take the opposite view because watching this team for well over a decade has been utter agony. Nothing is promised. Not a draft pick, not player health, not player skill.

    If I can watch Aaron Rodgers this year QB my team for a few exciting games, I’ll gladly take that over the 6th pick in the draft versus the 8th.

  16. 21 days from now they’ll say “despite his commitment to returning and an improbable comeback the NYJ are officially eliminated from the playoffs and Aaron Rodgers will not we returning to the football field this season”

  18. Per Saleh during the press conference, this doesn’t mean much. He’s now just allowed to do the same throwing drills he’s been doing with team mates rather than members of the coaching staff. That’s cool and all but doesn’t mean he’s any closer to playing this year IMO.

  19. If we could have stolen a win from the Pats during week three, and the Raiders a couple of weeks ago, I would be so pumped for this.

    At 4-7 though, honestly, I would just officially shut him down for the year.

    No sense in risking injury for a playoff run that isn’t going to happen.

    Winning six in a row is a super tall and unrealistic order at this point.

  20. If Rodgers just plays in Week 18, beats the Patriots, and then retires the Jets still might put him in the ring of honor.

    It’s mid-December. Across the NFL, teams are hunkering down for one of the closest playoff pushes in recent years. And by some medical miracle, Aaron Rodgers walks out onto the field on the Jets big road trip to Miami. He manages to call out the right protections for his paper-thin offensive line. He helps us all remember that Garrett Wilson is going to be a star. Breece Hall and even Dalvin Cook are able to find holes, with Rodgers calling audibles that keep opposing defenses on their toes.

    The Jets go on a crazy winning streak, with Rodgers leading them the way we all envisioned.

    And they finish 8-9, missing the playoffs for the 13th straight year.

  22. I could definitely be wrong but,

    I think Saleh is doing this to raise the spirits of the locker room by giving them a new sense of hope that can drive them to win a few games. The defense has looked sub-standards the last two games and for good reason: the offense is not pulling their weight. But this move gives the team something concrete to play for. Its the first official development on AR that isnt him yapping on Mcafee. I predict this will spark a flame, and we will look competitive on both sides.

  25. Don’t get your hopes up. I don’t think that there is any point in doing this so early unless they just wanted to make sure they started the clock before we got eliminated from the playoffs.

  29. Everyone says it’d be Jets luck for him to reinjure himself doing this, but I’d say it’s more Jets luck for him to come back in 2-3 weeks, ball out, we look like one of the best teams in the NFL, and we barely end up missing the playoffs.

  30. First question that needs to be answered- can the Jets go 4-1 with Aaron Rodgers across a 5 game span?

    If the answer is yes then this week is a must win. Stay away doomers.
